Early wickets for Bangalore leaves Delhi struggling

As the two Delhi openers Alastair Cook and Virender Sehwag walked into the middle the crowd went berserk, expecting the 'typical Sehwag' start. And, that was what they got. But, the whole stadium except from a part of the ground where the chants of 'Aaaaarrrrrrr Ceeeeee Bbbbeeee' could be heard was shut in silence. Vinay Kumar started the proceedings for the Royal Challengers and bowled a very wide-ish one first up. Guess what? Virender Sehwag reached out for that delivery and handed a straight forward catch to Gambhir at point. Captain of the Delhi Daredevils was out for a golden duck!

In came the young talented batsman Mandeep Singh. He lasted the same as his captain. On his legs, it went straight to Shukla at fine leg. And, with that those chants by the RCB 'stand' gained more intensity. It was Shane Watson to face the hat-trick ball...

After having got 2 in 2 with the deliveries that could have went for 4 easily, Vinay Kumar bowled a ripper of a hat-trick ball to Shane Watson. It was short and hurried on Watson who was lucky not to edge or glove it to the keeper. Then on, there was no looking back for Watson. He started his counter attack and Ishant Sharma was his prime target. Coming back from an injury, Sharma looked rusty. Shane Watson picked 14 runs off Sharma's first over. Gambhir gave Vinay Kumar an additional 3rd over who was bowling well after getting those wickets. In the 5th over however, there was a mix-up between Cook and Watson leading to the Watson's run out. It was a solid innings cut short, one would feel.

How many runs will Delhi Daredevils score in the first 6 overs?

A)20-30
B)31-40
C)41-50
D)50 +

Winner gets a prize of 500vcash!

500vcash bonus for each - a) who gets the correct number b) who gets the correct wickets

And as far as the prediction thingy goes, I'll go with C.
and the prediction will be C
For me, Delhi scores 45 odd runs, so will go with C
C is the predication for me.
wait i change my answer to C
48 for 2.
I will go with C
DD will score 36 runs in 6 overs with the loss of three wickets.
Ideally it should be C but I'd say B.

Seven members guessed it right. But, the winner is BLITZBERG as he was the closest to the runs. He gets 500vcash. PRATS guessed the correct number of wickets. He gets 500vcash. Congratulations to the winners and thanks every one for participating. Do join us next time and keep predicting to keep winning!

No, I didn't guessed it right, Gaurav. By the way, edit your options.

What if someone answers B or C and the batting team scores exactly 30 or 40 runs? Thats just a small error, nothing too big. Its that if you edit things, it would make no complications.

Delhi Daredevils sink further

It was a pair Alastair Cook and Ajinkya Rahane in the middle for Delhi Daredevils after they had lost 3 quick wickets. Cook was a mere spectator so far as he wasn't a part of the action most of the time though he had faced like 12 deliveries for his 5 runs which included a four. He was stuck at one end. It was Rahane who initiated the stroke-play. He hit a massive six early on in his innings and then Cook joined in. The duo had added 30 runs for the 5th wicket before Cook was caught by Aaron at deep cover giving Ishant Sharma his first wicket who did well to come back after conceding 24 runs of his first two overs.

Yuvraj Singh, returning to Cricket after winning over cancer couldn't last long. The feet weren't moving, looked out of touch for the 5 balls he faced. Tried to loft one over mid on, he could only hand a simple chance to Ishant Sharma at mid on. He was out for naught.

Sunil Narine was introduced in the 12th over. There was some exaggerated spin as one would expect. Narine bowled some absolute beauties to the batsmen and they were always found searching for the ball. He gave away little as his figures read 0 for 5 off 3 overs. He left the field after the 19th over due to reasons unknown and so couldn't finish his full quota. This is one of Narine's delivery to Ajinkya Rahane spinning into him -

It was on Ajinkya Rahane now to take Delhi to a respectable score. He was going well with an odd boundary. But, the wickets kept falling on the end. Gambhir brought back Vinay Kumar in the 15th over and he immediately obliged his skipper by getting the priced scalp of Rahane which was his 3rd wicket. Uthappa, who stood upto the stumps to the medium pacer took an easy catch after Rahane edged one to him. He made 35 runs but, was out at the wrong time.

Wicket keeper batsman Ambati Rayudu was the only batsman apart from Shane Watson who looked well established at the crease. He was timing it well and scored swiftly. It was his 31 in the end that got the Daredevils to 118. Not a big total but, the pitch isn't helping the batsmen. And, Delhi have some good bowlers. They will look to get early wickets if they are to stop RCB from getting this score.

L Balaji got injured while fielding and might have pulled his hamstring. It was JP Duminy who fulfilled his overs and did a pretty good job too getting two wickets in the 18th over. Shukla bowled a lone over as well. While we wait on Narine, we hear Balaji won't be batting in RCB innings. We hope he doesn't need to. That also puts a question mark on his future in this IPL?

Royal Challengers Bangalore need 119 runs to win from 20 overs

118 is a paltry score. Should be a walk in the park for RCB. Eagerly waiting to see Dilscoops and de Villscoops.
