Post-match presentation

Welcome to the post-match presentation everyone. We had a good opening match even if it was a low scoring one. Dravid and Razzaq winning it for RCB. But, one really needs to credit their bowlers. They restricted Delhi to a mediocre score and provided the batsmen that space to play themselves in.

We have Mr. Sunil Gavaskar with us. Let's here his views -

User2010 said:
Welcome Sunny sir. So, where do you feel Delhi lost it?

Sunil Gavaskar said:
Thanks. Well, it was the batting that let them down, isn't it? When you have that much depth in the batting you expect a team to post at least 140-150 even if the pitch is a poor one. 118 was way too low. However, I am surprised Bangalore won it with just 1 ball to spare. Dravid played a slow but, an important knock though.

User2010 said:
Abdul Razzaq took a lot of pressure off Dravid..

Sunil Gavaskar said:
Oh yes! He certainly did that. When you look at the stage when he came in, RCB were struggling. They were definitely struggling! He started hitting those boundaries and that's what allowed Rahul to play that kind of innings.

User2010 said:
The DD bowlers provided a good start, Morkel especially.

Sunil Gavaskar said:
Well, that's what a captain expects when he has someone like Morne in his ranks. Yeah, he bowled well but, others needed to chip in too. As I said, it was a pretty low score.

User2010 said:
I think the presentation is ready. Let's go down to Danny Morison..

Danny Morison said:
Hello and welcome to the post match presentation. Well, the home team, the double Ds didn't have a good start to the tournament. I'd like call the captains of both the teams, Jaaaay and Viru!

Danny Morison said:
Let's start with you Viru. Where do you think it went wrong?

Virender Sehwag said:
Danny, I think my batters didn't score many runs and my bowlers didn't have the score to defend. They batted well especially that Razzaq and Rahul bhai.

Danny Morison said:
Yeah, well Gautam, happy with the start?

Gautam Gambhir said:
Yes, a win but, we could have batted better. We were in trouble after the 10 overs of our innings but, then Dravid and Razzaq played well together to get us out of that hole we dug for ourselves. There are improvements needed, I hope we do fine.

Danny Morison said:
Balaji is injured. What's the news on him?

Gautam Gambhir said:
Ah yes, Bala will miss the next game. We're hoping he will be back after that but, all depends on how well he recovers.

Danny Morison said:
Well guys, thanks and good luck for the tournament.

Danny Morison said:
Now, we come to the man of the match. Vinay Kumar is the man of the match for today for exceptional bowling in the 1st innings which put DD on the back foot.

Danny Morison said:
Congrats, Vinay. You bowled really well on that pitch..

Vinay Kumar said:
Thanks Danny, yeah it was a good wicket to bowl on actually. It wasn't doing much but, when I banged it in, it wasn't easy for the batsmen.

Danny Morison said:
Getting Viru on the first ball would be something special, isn't it?

Vinay Kumar said:
Absolutely! I was delighted when Gauti took that catch. Viru pa is a crucial wicket for any team. If he starts scoring, he will take the game away from you.

Danny Morison said:
Well, congratulations once again and good luck for the rest of it.

Danny Morison said:
That's it from the presentation area.

Vinay Kumar getting the man of the match award there. As we go, here's a spider graphic showing Razzaq's boundaries in this innings. He hit 5 fours and a six. That's it from us, do join us at Wankhede for game number 2 between the Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers.

Sweet match, and in excellent time too. I don't think I'll have much of an excuse for not updating a text-only story often now. :(

A personal (and EXTREMELY personal) thing though...I'm undecided on the format of the interviews. The Quotes make it look more like a forum thing and not really like anything really professional. I (PERSONALLY) would prefer to see it in more of a narrative format.

Again, just my personal (very much so) view. That is all.

Excellent first match. I'm really looking forward to the next one. The first was really good, even if it was pretty much a walk in the park for RCB, save for a few early hiccups.

User, I have an idea, while you auto-play autoplay for only 5-10 overs, post the update, and you can allow us to select bowlers & change the batting order.

I do not auto play. You think C07 could actually end up on 118 for 8? I play those matches. And, this is the same lineup you posted earlier, right?

Thanks for that, Qpee. I thought it wasn't looking too professional myself. But, left it as it was saving me some time. :p Anyways, would you prefer this sort of pre match and post match stuff?

I do not auto play. You think C07 could actually end up on 118 for 8?
Yeah, that better! See, after the toss you will tell who bats first & bowls first, if I bowl first then I will select whom I want to bowl the first 7 overs with. Same for the next 7 and next six. Similarly the batting team can change the order if it wants acc to the situation.
And, this is the same lineup you posted earlier, right?
Yep.

No.

1. I'll have to wait for people and it is a hassle.
2. Lineup editor allows only 6 people to bowl in C07. And, if I change the order, it doesn't allow one marked bowler to bowl at all. That can be seen when DD batted where Balaji didn't bowl.

----------

But, one thing you can do is. Select 6 bowlers and mark their order. First four bowlers will bowl 4 overs each and number 5 and 6 will bowl 2 overs each. Problem/thing is the bowlers complete their whole spell in one go.

Yeah but, it's the only game where you have all the current gfx available and the editors. I'm happy with what I've got.

at Wankhede Stadium

Little Master v Captain Cool - Whose side are you on?

User.png
: Welcome everyone to Extraa Innnings T20 with me, User2010. It is the 2nd match heading our way from Wankhede stadium as the Mumbai Indians take on the Deccan Chargers. We have Sourav Ganguly as the the special guest today. Thanks a lot for joining us, Dada.

Ganguly.png
: I'm glad to be here. Not playing in it but, it's good being a part of it.

User.png
: It is a pleasure to have you. It was a good start to the tournament yesterday but, we expected Delhi to score a bit more, isn't it?

Ganguly.png
: Well, absolutely. They have a strong batting lineup but, all credits to RCB. They restricted them and the batsmen did their job afterwards. Good to see Dravid getting those runs.

User.png
: Yes, it surely is. Moving onto this game, I think we have the pitch report ready. Let's show you what it looks like..

Pitch2.jpg

User.png
: Win the toss and bat first?

Ganguly.png
: Yes. From that report and looking at the wicket from here, I don't think any captain would want to miss an opportunity to bat first on this track. Looks a beauty to bat on!

User.png
: You want to get in there, isn't it? :D Well, before Dada goes there, let us go to Mr. Arun Lal who has the two captains with him for the toss.

The TOSS

Lal.png
: It is game 2 of the IPL. We're at the toss. Home skipper Sachin Tendulkar to spin the coin..

Dhoni.png
: Heads.

Lal.png
: It is heads. Deccan Chargers have won the toss. Called it correct, Mahi. What are you looking to do?

Dhoni.png
: Ha ha, yes. We will bat first, Arun. It looks a good wicket, you know. Chasing under the lights can be tricky you know so, we are looking to have the runs for our bowlers.

Lal.png
: Happy bowling first, Sachin?

Sachin.png
: We wanted to bat too. But, it's fine. Hopefully we can get some early wickets and keep the scoring down and then chase it down.

Lal.png
: Good luck both of you. News from the middle is, Dhoni has won the toss and Deccan will be batting first.

User.png
: It will be Deccan Chargers who will come out to bat. Here are the lineups for the teams -

User.png
: As we thought Sourav. Dhoni had no hesitation to bat first. Both the teams look good on paper. Whom would you place your money on?

Ganguly.png
: To be honest, every team is strong in this competition. But, here Mumbai looks a better T20 outfit. They have the resources. Deccan are alright, they have Dhoni and Taylor in the batting, Steyn and Zak in the bowling while Bravo can do a bit of both. They will want their other Indian players to perform though in this competition. I'm going with Mumbai.

User.png
: There you heard it from Dada. A big thank you to him again for joining us. Well, as the players walk out, here's a predict and win question for you all. You know what to do!

Thanks, haha. Credits to Shantanu for that. I think he made it. We used it for ICC Battle of Supremacy story.

How about using real captains' images in the conversation rather than in game ones, Gaurav? I can provide some good images of Dhoni and Sachin at 100*100 size from Internet.
