Bat first then, is what the pitch report says. Spinners to get the assistance in the second half as is always the case with Chennai. At the toss, it was KP who won it and elected to bat first. The lineups are as follows -

Chris Gayle and Murali Vijay were out in the middle opening the batting for KKR. It was Irfan Pathan to start the proceedings for the home team. Clarke mentioned at the toss that there might be some swing early on. Maybe that was the reason to open with Irfan. However, it wasn't the ball that was swinging. The openers went bang bang! Murali Vijay started the onslaught with his typical lofted drive over mid on. He wasn't showing any respect to the opening bowlers of CSK. Soon, it was Gayle who started scoring freely. Both looked dangerous at the crease..

Both Irfan Pathan and Umesh Yadav were leaking runs as the KKR openers decided to take the advantage of the fielding restrictions. Skipper Michael Clarke didn't look too impressed. But, he persisted with them..

Finally, there was a huge relief as the big man held out to long on as Jadeja took an easy one of the bowling of Irfan Pathan. CSK fans and the players were all ecstatic as they knew what a Gayle-Storm could do! Mayank Agarwal came in at number 3. Murali Vijay is still going strong...

KKR are 52 for 1 after 6 overs. Murali Vijay is on 31 off 18 with 6 fours.

KKR is looking very good for a huge total and if they succeed in that, it will be hard times for CSK.

great start there hope we will post a big total on the board sad to see gayle gone early but hope vijay continues his banging and rest of team members to contribute as well so superb start for us overall :D

Oh, god! That were horrendous first six overs from us. Now, we'll be looking to send Vijay back and then would take the charge of the game. Our bowlers need to put in special efforts now.

CSK need 172 runs to win from 20 overs

Looking at the CSK batting, its a tall ask for them. Kallis and Badrinath need to pull their socks among others. Amla can be dangerous for the fielding team as well. Not sure about Clarke.

brilliant batting display by kkr 172 is really a good target hope bowlers will do the job for us. and please scoreboard please

He has already done that. You need to wait for the images to load fully to view the scorecards.
