Shouldn't India make sure the South African tour comes off? If they are confident in their side's quality shouldn't they want to be tested against the best?

The lineal champion of a weight division in boxing is often referred to as "the man who beat the man." Having more or less defeated all comers, the South African test side is now "the man," and the Indian side should be raring to knock them over. In sport, to become the best you first have to overcome the best. It's fine to crush opponents in friendly home conditions, but to really know where you stand in the grand order of things you have to measure yourself against whoever is at the top.

As a fan, it's a huge disappointment if the series is called off. India against South Africa in the last 10 years or so has been a healthy and entertaining competition in Test Cricket.. irrespective of where it has been played. Though India wouldn't really do any wonders this time around, the idea of such a tour is important for the betterment of Test Cricket.

Shame if the BCCI doesn't allow

What's their problem with Haroon Lorgat?

When Lorgat was ICC president he commissioned the "Wolf Report" review of the ICC which recommended that the game's governing body try to seriously curtail India's/BCCI influence over the ICC, so that the ICC can become a independent governing body.

India didn't like that & they trying to punish South Africa for them making Lorgat their president.
