S.G : Hello and welcome back to the " Fourth Umpire " which is the after-match analysis show. We have Mr.Boycott with us to discuss all the detailed analysis of today's match which was so exciting through out and of course its always thrilling to watch Ind-Pak matches. But Pakistan were bit unlucky to get eliminated in the last second becos of a great unexpected six from Agarkar!
S.G : Well Geoffrey, once again a thriller in Champions Trophy... All the three matches had a great end so far where both the teams were having equal chances till the last second. Ok Geoffrey, did u think that Indians wud win this in the last over?
G.B : I was having hopes on India till Tendulkar was there! As long as he stays at the crease, India wud always be in safe track. But after he departed in the last over in a cheeky way, tbh, i expected Akhtar to finish the tail with his yorkers.
S.G : Yes infact he attempted an yorker to uproot the stumps in last ball but unfortunately it didnt turn out well. Also Tendulkar was very very lucky thrice today, Those who have missed Sachin's batting, this is the summary of his luck he had,
Luck no 1 :- No slips in first over against Tendulkar which is a strange captaincy by Inzi... He edged fifth ball of the first ball where it wud have been a lolly pop catch for the first fielder.
Luck no 2 :- Umar Gul, in one of his overs got rid of Tendulkar which was the very soft dismissal but it was a NO Ball.
Luck no 3 :- Inzi missed a run out chance of Tendulkar especially when he was struggling due to tiredness.
G.B : Thats lot of lucks i wud say! But not keeping slip and missing run out is majorly Inzi's fault though. Apart from this, it was a top class batting performance from Sachin today. He played well all around the wicket i guess. It was great watching him to bat in that manner.
S.G : Yep Geoffrey, He handled the bowlers in a brilliant manner... This is how, Sachin's spider looks,
Tendulkar Vs Pakistan
G.B : That was exceptional performance! As i said,he was scoring all around. Also he looked confident from the start, but in the middle, he was struggling in his fitness though. He got bit tired of running but Yuvraj and Dhoni did well to compensate it.
S.G : Poor man, he stood till 49.3 overs which is very difficult for a normal human! Well done Tendulkar
Now Geoffrey, coming to Pakistan team, whats ur opinion on them?G.B : Its sad to loose a close contest where they almost made it when Akhtar dismissed Tendulkar. But it was a top class performance in the batting. Its very rare to see Afridi playing an matured innings. Yousuf, who joined in the middle, played exceptionally well. But it was Inzi who had problems with Kumble. But 318 was a great score to set as a target!
S.G : Yes Geoffrey, i also thought that with Pakistan bowling attack, its very hard to achieve that. Do u think, Pakistan did well like their batting?
G.B : nah... Firstly they failed to take Tendulkar's wicket. Then the line and length was not upto the expectations. Out of all bowlers, i prefer Razzaq as the best though Akhtar had the beautiful second spell.
S.G : About Akhtar, his main expectation of " threatening " was missing today. He didnt look threatening at all.. It may be due to the conditions of pitch.. Here is the bowling map of Akhtar,

G.B : There u can see, the line was not impressive! If we just go back to previous game, where Bond was very impressive that wud tell us the answer for unthreatening effect of Akhtar.
S.G : With flat track, Akhtar was mainly depending on pace and in most occassions, he forgot his line and length.
G.B : Even those three wickets, batsmen made mistake of throwing the wicket away. Well, last ball yorker, oh... how can he do that inspite after knowing its effect in previous game.
S.G : Thats what many people wud have been wondering... Infact almost all Pakistan fans have started cursing Akhtar for this. i feel that he was targeting that yorker to uproot the stumps but it ended as a worse delivery! Its unfortunate.
G.B : But the entertainment this match provided was great. Pakistan cud have done better in fielding.. they missed a runout, Afridi misfielded for a four in the last over which was just a ball before Tendulkar got out.... Without that boundary, the pressure wud have been more. Also, if it wud have ended in a tie, then it wud have been more interesting too
S.G :
Credits to Agarkar for that six! Ok Geoffrey, now its time for the special segments!S.G : Lets start with the "Master Blaster" of the day. Well, there were many options... Afridi,Yousuf,Sachin, Dhoni and Yuvraj... But Yousuf was keep on balsting with lots of boundaries throught where Sachin Tendulkar converted to an supporting role later!
So this quick fire from yousuf is our Star Sports Master Blaster of the Day!
G.B : Well, both Afridi's and Yousuf's innings were interesting to watch. But i wud have preferred Tendulkar's innings as Master Blaster as he scored almost half of the team's score single handedly. Being a batting track, i enjoyed each and evry run scored actually!
S.G : Well Geoffrey, it was bit tough to choose this actually but Tendulkar's luck prbly made us to go for Yousuf.Also Yousuf scored a 32 ball fifty! But it was an exceptional innings by Tendulkar too!
Now, lets go to the super moment of the Day! Here comes Tendulkar, Geoffrey
Well, Sachin's no ball dismissal is the super moment of the day as it wud have made a huge difference if Sachin wud have dismissed in that stage!
G.B : This is definitely a turning point.. It was actually after this, Tendulkar became very watchful... This is rightly a super moment of the day....i.e Luck that was in favour of India helping the team to win!
S.G : Now the last segment, " Safe hands" award. Many brilliant catches were taken. Gul took an brilliant catch to dismiss Tendulkar. But today's Safe Hands goes to Younis Khan who took an exceptional flying catch to dismiss Sehwag
G.B : Well, I am always telling these days that many flying catches are being taken now a days and this is one among them... Exceptional effort and great catch!
S.G : Ok Geoffrey,Now its the time to end this show.... As usual final words from u?
G.B : well, once again win at the last second needed little luck for India to get that improper yorker attempt to do it... Otherwise, both the teams equally performed well and both worked hard for victory.. but as there can be only one winner, & it was India in the last who qualified for semis!
For Pakistan, There is nothing to worry about this loss as they failed in the last second... It was an exceptional battle and bowling needs little concentration in line and lengths especially for Akhtar,Asif and Gul. Once again i wud like to say, Razzaq bowled excellent of all the bowlers becos of his good line & length. Also Gud Luck for Pakistan in upcoming tournaments.
For India, once again Tendulkar doing it! I wud really like to see the 100% Team performance which is still yet to come. But India battled well and never seemed to give up in any stage! Gud luck for the semi finals!
