Funny idea by Bangladesh to get the Kiwis hopes up and then crush them with a 200 run partnership;)

Bashar & Ashraful Trying To Rebuild!
( Bowling getting Tough due to dew factor, Lot of Singles Taken )

bahsrbuilding1xc.jpg

With Bond threatening the entire Bangladesh, Fleming was forced to stop his key bowler( Bond ) from the attack because of the lengthy 6 Overs spell. Mills was also stopped in other end. Oram & Franklin were operated by Fleming. This relieved the batsmen a bit. In addition to this, the dew factor has started playing the crucial factor on bowlers now.

Both Oram & Franklin found difficult to grip the ball and it looked completely different from the initial overs. The ball was skidding from hands of the bowlers which helped in offering the width due to bad line & Bashar utilised this to a great extent by smashing those bad deliveries. Bashar's confidence has increased while Ashraful took some time to settle in. But both the batsmen had the same intension of rotating strikes by taking more singles.

After 15 Overs, batsmen did not find any difficulties to take the singles and were just picking the gaps easily. The outfield also got slowed down which resulted in more singles & rare bondaries. Infact Ashraful is yet to score a boundary. The shots are looking bit easy after the ball started to loose its shine. These two seemed to have settled in well as they are doin well to keep the scorecard moving.

Either batsmen have to make some mistakes or Fleming has to think something wise to pick the wickets. The field setup is widespread now. Also, Vettori seems to be doubtful to bowl in these conditions as it might be ineffective. Bowlers ( Oram & Franklin atm ) are following the tactics of " Keep the line straight and cut down the speed ". So, the medium pacers like Astle & Styris are expected to be more effective than Vettori.

Well, 20 Over ended.. Bangladesh have come back well in last 10 overs. Bashar & Ashraful are watchful but still, the required run rate is climbing up. For Kiwis, they need the batsmen to make mistakes for quick wickets. The bowlers have started facing the difficulty of gripping the ball in dew. Meanwhile, a good partnership is needed for Bangla to stay safe in this game! Still, a lot of works to do for both the teams. :)

Bangladesh :- 70/2(20)
H.Bashar : 33*(58)
M.Ashraful : 18*(30)

Required Run rate : 5.27 Runs/Over
Last 10 Overs : 45 Runs, 0 wickets

Nice innings so far by Bashar. A couple of 6+ runs and over would definetly ease the run rate some what - another Jim Maxwell comment by yours truly ;)

Bangladesh Skipper Departs!
( Styris strikes with the Wicket of Ashraful )

ashrafulout0kc.jpg

With both Ashraful & Bashar going well, Fleming kept on working with his fielders & discussing with his bowlers. Ashraful, who was very patient, got two consecutive fours against Franklin. This made Fleming to stop Franklin and Styris was introduced. It was just when Ashraful was looking good, Styris striked for Kiwis with the important wicket of Ashraful!

Styris bowled an normal medium pace delivery which Ashraful attempted an ordinary shot but was decieved completely. As a result, the ball made its way towards the stumps and striked the offstumps. Ashraful was clean bowled by Styris. Styris was delighted to strike in his early overs itself!

Fleming was bit relieved as they got the breakthrough which was badly needed for Kiwis. Ashraful was disappointed a lots and made his way to the dressing room with much worried face. The tension exists in both the dressing room. Saleh replaced Bangla skipper at the crease joining well settled Bashar.

well. 26 Overs ended, Kiwis must have been bit relieved with the wicket of Ashraful... but still, Bashar is looking confident. Bangladesh needs a lot from this man with good support in other end. While, Fleming wud be looking to get some more wickets especially Bashar to apply pressure on Bangla! Half way gone, but still more works left to do for both the teams! :)

Bangladesh :- 97/3(26)
H.Bashar : 44*(70)
R.Saleh : 2*(5)

M.Ashraful : 32(49) Dismissed by Styris.

C'mon Bangla!! You can do it! Don't throw this away! Just make sure you need like 65-70 in the final ten, then win it from there...
