With last 10 Overs left, Lara was really confused about the bowling options he had. Edwards was the only successful bowler so far & he also had only few overs (2) left. With bold risks, Lara shuffled Banks,Gayle,Bradshaw & Bravo in last 10 but both Dhoni & Tendulkar finished off the Indian innings in style!

Tendulkar's Magnificent Century!

Tendulkar's main intension was to pick singles and give Dhoni the strike as Dhoni wud be more effective not only becos of fresh batsman at the crease but also due to ability to hit big ones! Infact Sachin was excecuting that strategy perfectly between 40-45 Overs after which he also joined Dhoni in going over the bowlers!

Tendulkar played excellent shots all around the ground and made the fielders to run hard behind the ball. Lara was totally clueless of Sachin's approach. He was adjusting the fielding often.. was having regular discussion with his bowlers... but all of no use! Sachin spotted the gaps well and was able to score regular boundaries.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar reached yet another century in this Champions Trophy and raised his bat proudly towards the crowd and dressing room! All the Indian fans started jumping over the seats and the reponse was excellent. Also the players in the dressing room & Indian coach stood up to praise this excellent innings! What an innings this has been from Sachin.. Even Lara was very much impressed and went towards Sachin to give a warm handshake!

Dhoni's Fast fifty!

All Indian fans are having a great time in the stadium. In one end, Sachin was providing an superb entertainment throughout while in another end, Dhoni started doing the same with his sixes! Lara was the most unhappy person in the entire stadium. He had no idea how to control this situation and almost gave up in the final overs wanting to finish off the 50 Overs soon!

Dhoni, who played first 20 balls patiently, started to go wild over the bowlers in his style after that! Dhoni was able to get the regular boundaries especially sixes very well. He scored some huge sixes which made all the spectators very much excited. Even Windies fans started liking those big shots. But there was lots of disappointments seen among Windies fans.

Dhoni with his quick fire, reached his half century and recieved applauses from everyone. Tendulkar also cheered Dhoni for the half century and both the batsmen are already on the right path to set a massive target for Windies.

Well, atlast for Lara, 50 Overs ended! Windies failed to break this Sachin-Dhoni partnership. These two batsmen fetched lot & lots of runs ( almost 100 ) in last 10 Overs taking India to a huge total of 341 with the loss of just 3 Wickets. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 69 while Tendulkar remained unbeaten on 116. These two recieved standing applauses once again while returning to dressing room. Windies players also returned to dressing room but all looked disappointed on their performance in the field. The only hope for Windies now is the flat pitch conditions favouring batsmen a lot than bowlers!

Actually i was concentrating mainly on Dhoni... But fortuantely the runs were coming nicely! if i remember rite, Sachin reached his ton only around 48th over i guess!

Also, it just striked me suddenly that the score is the same as the score of Ind-WI match, 4th ODI in real life! But have to wait and see the end result though

Ravi Shastri :- Hello and Welcome to Innings Break of India-WestIndia match where India have set the huge total of 342 runs. It was an excellent batting display as they just lost 3 wickets! It was an Fantastic end to Indian innings with both Tendulkar & Dhoni remained unbeaten!

Ravi Shastri :-Well, We have to wait and see how India responds... But now for the moment, since this is the India match, we have decided to include a Guest Area, an extra show in this innings break. Also the normal Guest Area at the end of the match wud also be there. Now Sunil Gavaskar and Geoffrey Boycott are waiting to start the show


S.G :- Thanx Ravi, as he said, this is a special added edition in Innings break mainly becos, its a India match! We have Geoffrey with us too. Well Geoffrey, which is ur fav to win this?

G.B :- Well, 342 is a huge task but considering how the pitch behaved in first innings, i guess, Windies do have a chance provided they are still mentally strong enough while batting after being smashed all over in bowling!

S.G :- Yes Geoffrey, u are right! I observed many disappointed faces when Windies left the field & also with the way they bowled last few overs looked like they lost the hopes! So they need to be mentally strong enough before coming to the crease!

S.G :- Yes, this " confidence " is the word which Lara is very fond of I was also suprised to see his brave decision of bowling first!

G.B :- Also, its not the first time to see Lara making these type of decisions

S.G :- :laugh ok, here is my second question,

How did u feel when Tendulkar & Dhoni batted together?

G.B :- Exactly! I was also really impressed by the way Tendulkar batted! He took the charge when Dravid was there with him & gave the support when Dhoni was there with him & finally joined the party with Dhoni in end! Amazing performance! :hpraise

S.G :- Well, rather than his performance, i was impressed by his adaptability as no3! I guess, the flat conditions have benefitted him a lots!

G.B :- Here is the final question,

Finally, who are the favourites to win this match.. Do u think that Windies can make this due to the flat nature of the pitch?

S.G :- Well said! Yeah, those key players u have mentioned are tough to get rid of them especially Lara & Chanderpaul! Its going to be interesting to see how Indian bowlers also perform after a great batting display! Spinners might be handy to reduce the scoring rate once the pressure is applied by pacers!

G.B :- Remember, Gayle can take Windies either to comfortable position by getting an aggressive start or to trouble by departing very early! Zaheer Khan who is coming back after a long time shd have an interesting time with new ball. But we have to wait and see what happens as i am not ready to predict anything in this stage

S.G :- So Windies team are under more pressure than India now... Well, If Windies get an flying start especially with help of Gayle, Windies can get the control back,but a huge task left ahead of Windies!
