Well, Lara was contented to proceed with Edwards and Gayle. Gayle was bowling tight line and it became bit difficult for batsmen to score boundaries with widespread field setup by Lara. Gayle was frustrated for second time as Bradshaw missed a catch of Tendulkar though it was a good attempt!

Huge Loss for Windies : Sachin Dropped!

In one of the deliveries of Gayle, Sachin who was looking very patient, suddenly attempted an huge sweep to get his first boundary but it lead to an mistimed shot. The ball travelled in air and Bradshaw was running to catch it & made a huge dive in front but he wasn't able to get hold of the ball which added to the dropped catch column of Windies.

Though it was an great effort by Bradshaw, it was Tendulkar getting a life there which might cost a huge in end! Already Sehwag has proven to be costly for Windies!

Sehwag, The Second Victim of Edwards!

Edwards once again striked for Windies with the wicket of Sehwag. This was another huge blow for India as Sehwag seemed to be very well settled!

Sehwag attempted an ordinary backfoot shot in one of the deliveries of Edwards... & ball found the fielder, Lara, in the middle. Lara, after being frustrated with his fielders, managed to take an easy catch. He was relieved once again but there was no happiness as he was still thinking of Sachin's dropped catch in previous over!

Sehwag returned to pavilion and he recieved applauses too like Sourav! A very fine innings, inspite of getting life twice, finally came to an end. Indian skipper, Rahul Dravid replaced Sehwag at the crease.

Whats Happening? Another Catch Dropped!

Windies poor display in fielding continued. This time it was Indian skipper being dropped by Morton near the boundary! Edwards missed his third wicket.

Edwards attempted an bouncer which Dravid tried to put that away.... It was not properly time leading to an top edge! The ball went very high in the air and its Morton who was found running to take that catch! Morton made an huge dive but it was bit early than speed of the ball which made Morton to miss it completely & ball striked on his shoulders and went down. The bowler was very unhappy and also Lara showed some signs of frustrations!

Morton have missed a second catch in this match. Also, three out of four Indian batsmen getting a life which wud have put India into deep trouble if those had been taken! Anyways, last two dive attempts looks a bit difficult but it all counts!


Well, 25 Overs ended and India still manage to maintain just above 6 Runs per Over. The scoring rate has been reduced compared to initial overs. Windies need to be very alert in the field as " Catches Win Matches " which Lara is well aware of! Also India needs to be watchful in these middle overs to stay safe after making an great start! Half way to travel for India to set the target but still, a lot of works to do for both the teams

Whats going on too many drop catches ICC must take a look might be a case of match fixing lol .
But the drop catches are proving benifitial for the Indians .

( Tendulkar Dominating With Excellent Support from Dravid )​

With many chances already dropped, both Indian batsmen started to be more watchful. Lara was very eagerly waiting for another mistake but batsmen denied the opportunity again! Tendulkar started his innings very patiently & was slowly started to go over the bowlers. Dravid, in the other end is playing an silent innings giving a solid support to the Master. Lara stopped Gayle & Edwards and introduced Banks & Bravo but the partnership remained unaffected!

Tendulkar Dominating The Bowlers!

Lara was suprised with the patient start by Sachin but he was well aware that " More the time Tendulkar stays, more the danger it wud be for Windies "!

Tendulkar started to attack the bowlers slowly as expected. He played some excellent shots all over like Leg Glance, Cover drives, straight drives, Sweep shots etc etc, overall making Lara to panic! Banks was the first bowler to be attacked by Tendulkar as Sachin scored his first boundary with a huge six off Banks. This six infact initiated the aggressiveness. After this, Sachin started moving his feet very well and played some lovely shots in gaps & also he was able to get the frequent boundaries!

Lara was kept on adjusting the field set for his friend but Sachin also kept on picking the gaps in excellence. The fielders were already having very tough time especially near the boundaries and this aggression increased the difficulty further. Even for a single, Sachin was found playing with full strength!

Dravid, Supportive Skipper Role!

In other end, Dravid was busy working with the singles and Twos. He was very much contented to keep Tendulkar on strike. Dravid,like Sachin,got well settled and moved his feet very well picking the gaps perfectly.

Dravid never attempted to take any risks and he was very much happy to strike the ball in gaps! Lara, after seeing this approach was attacking Dravid by placing some close fielders inside the circle but Dravid was still able to find the gaps. This strategy of one being supportive and another being aggressive is working very well for India.

Meanwhile, Tendulkar reached his fifty and raised his bat towards the dressing room... Everyone in the stadium as well as in dressing room applauded him for the brilliant effort! Tendulkar, who had the average strike initially, has reached almost run a ball now.

Well, 35 Overs ended and India is looking very comfortable with the healthy run rate. Tendulkar in last overs is definitely going to be dangerous for Windies.. So Lara is badly looking for quick wickets especially Sachin before the game enters 40 Overs! While, India needs Sachin till the end to get an huge score & also its likely for Dhoni to come next ahead of Yuvi as he is found padded up already!
