Well its hard to call. India have the advantage of playing it safe and for the draw. But then that approach can hurt you more often than not so I'm sure the Indians will be looking to win this. Cracking game nevertheless and I refuse to predict.

Hello and welcome again to CapeTown for the third test between India and SouthAfrica which is the final test match in this series. Its known that this is going to be very very crucial one for both the teams. Apart from the efforts from both the teams, pitch/weather conditions also play a vital role. So lets look at those reports now.

Weather Report.

Well, the sunshine is expected throughout the test match except the last few days where there might be some cloudy conditions and we may also have showers but not expected to be heavy though.

For the Day1, the full day's play is expected without any weather interruptions. The weather has switched between the cloudy and sunny conditions for last one week without heavy rains which is definitely a great news for all cricket fans. This test,most prbly, should be having the result unaffected by the weather conditions. :cool: Thats all from the weather report and now.. we will take you to the pitch report.

Pitch Report.

Well, the pitch conditions here have the typical CapeTown conditions.. which have the tendency to assist spinners especially with the cracks turning up as the days pass by. It also have bit of grass on the surface which wud have made the pace bowlers to smile after the terrible game in previous flat track.

So, the bowlers are expected to have a great time on this wicket than batsmen..All the batsmen needed to do is, maintain patience..watch for the bad ones.. and punish them! Bowlers like Kumble/Harbhajan/Botha are going to be dangerous especially when they are going to have the ball on Day5. Still, the pitch is not going to support any huge turns.. but batsmen should be beware of the suprise turns.

Looking at the conditions, most of the captains would definitely like to bowl first on this wicket and bat once when the pitch gets used to the conditions there. Lets see what happens at the Toss!

Toss : SouthAfrican Captain,Smith won the toss and with the dual mind, decides to bat first. Well, its a strange decision but have to wait and see how this suprise decision works out for SouthAfrica.

Indian LineUp.

There is no change in opening pair from the previous game.. But there is a change at the crucial third position.. VVS Laxman making into the team as no3 batsman.. And Ganguly coming down the order... India going with 6 batsmen, 5 bowlers strategy.. in which, all the 6 batsmen have the capacity to score huge.. And in bowling department, Sreesanth coming back into this match.. and spin twins are still there.. i.e, India going with 2 spinners, 3 pace bowlers strategy.

SA LineUp.

The experimentations in opening slot still continues for SouthAfrica. This time, its Gibbs who is experimented in the opening slot. And Smith is contented to come down the order to improve his batting form. And also there are few changes in SA side too... Pollock, Ntini and Nel.. i.e, Standard Quality Pace attack is going to be there with the exclusion of Boje. This means, Botha is having a huge pressure to play his part as the lonely spinner. Dippenaar makes a comeback to the side instead of Hall which seems to be a suprise inclusion. Kemp is also included instead of Prince.

I dont think it was a strange decision to bat first.. I mean clouds on the last day and Grass is already developing before the start of play obviously means batting on the last day will be difficult and like you stated will help the spinned and im sure SA didn't want to face Kumble and Harbijan on the final day.
