India In SouthAfrica IndiaVs SouthAfrica Twenty20 Match,Johannesburg. End of 17 Overs, 2nd Innings.
Can India make it? ( Yuvraj Singh back in pavilion after a fighting knock )
With Yuvi firing from one end, Smith adjusted his field to very defensive and was waiting for 'one' single mistake from the batsmen. Yuvraj's fighting spirit kept the hopes of all Indian fans alive. Tension was seen everywhere... in SA dressing room... in Indian dressing room.. and also among spectators of both sides. Smith continued with Botha. He was expecting spin to do some trick in making the batsman to commit some mistake.
Warm Welcome to Botha by Yuvraj.
SouthAfrican spinner was very well welcomed by Yuvraj with a huge six in very third delivery of that over. Botha continued to Yuvi from over the wicket(to left handed batsmen) and it was just a normal offbreak delivery. Yuvraj judged it well and went for a huge sweep shot.
There was a perfect contact of the ball with bat and it went high and high in the air. It also got enough distance to clear the boundary ropes for Maximum! Hence, it resulted in a huge Six with one of the spectators there catching it cleanly.
Smith was frustrated as he started to realize that game is slipping slowly from his hands. Kallis, Pollock and Smith gathered and discussed their team strategy with Botha. They made the bowler to relax and gave all sorts of encouragements needed for him(Botha).
Botha's Revenge, Yuvi fell in the Trap!
Very soon after that big six, Botha got rid of this most dangerous batsmen in the same over. It created stunning silence among all the Indian spectators and in Indian dressing room.
Botha, this time, attempted an arm ball which was coming straight to Yuvraj. Batsmen, while attempting to hit that ball in low full toss itself, gave some room and tried to smash in offside. Unfortunately, ball decieved Yuvi completely and went past the bat without making any contacts and struck the stumps.
This resulted in clean bowled and Botha, immediately started to jump with joy and happiness. Smith was also majorly relieved and came running towards the bowler to celebrate this wicket. In other end, Yuvi stood still staring at his partner. Batsman was completely frustrated and disappointed to get out in such a crucial stage.. where his team need him the most! :
Yuvi returned back to pavilion and he received standing applauses while walking back. It was a brilliant entertainment provided by Yuvraj and it came to an end unfortunately!
Yuvraj's Dismissal - In RailCam View.
The huge six, which was the previous delivery of the dismissal, was just a normal offbreak.. and it was well judged by the batsman. Huge variation in very next ball, which was a straight arm delivery might have made the batsman(Yuvi) to go in dual mind and which shot to play.
This was very obvious, when batsman made some room to play the shot over top and finally ended up in getting decieved by the variation(Straight delivery). It was indeed a clever thinking from Botha. Or it might have come from his seniors too who was found giving advices to the bowler to maintain his cool tempo.
Another View of the Dismissal.
This tells the picture in even more clear way. Normal offbreak gave Yuvraj, an easy chance to sweep it on legside for huge six. The difference was around 70 cms from the stumps which also comforted Yuvraj as width was well offered to the batsman after pitching.
Very next delivery, which was a straight one without any spin,i.e, arm ball created difficulties for the batsman to go for the shot freely. Inspite of creating some room for playing the shot, Yuvi was unsuccessful in the end.
Anyways a great innings, thus came to an end. Pressure on India increased further with departure of Yuvraj Singh. Dhoni played safe against Botha's remaining deliveries and that over(Botha's) seemed to be a turning point of the match inspite of a huge six!
Top Class All-rounder frustrating India EvenMore!
With Uthappa and Dhoni at the crease, these two were expected to play some big shots as the Required rate was more than 14 runs per over. But Kallis denied any easy chances for both the batsmen.
Bowler was spot-on in Line/Length and maintained his accuracy like his previous overs. He refused to offer any widths to batsmen and hence they(batsmen) found it more difficult to go for big shots. Both Dhoni and Uthappa tried their level best but never found a way to get rid of the accurate Kallis.
Its to be noted that, Kallis had been very much impressive right from ball one. He maintained the same even in this over. Best thing, which both the batsmen were able to do was pick singles. Boundaries were denied by SouthAfrican team which kept on applying pressure on Indian side. Spectators(of Indian side) were frustrated the most.
With the end of third over Kallis(16th Over of Indian innings), Required run rate for India looked almost impossible. It was around 18 runs needed per over to win its first ever Twenty20 for India.
India Getting the Most from Part-Timer,Kemp.
Suprise decision came from SouthAfrican skipper when he handed the ball to Kemp to bowl his first over. It was shocking to everyone because Botha was stopped from the bowling attack inspite of his impressive last over. And, this strange bowling change brought back some of the lost India's hope of winning this match.
Indian captain managed to get two consecutive boundaries in that Kemp's over. First one was a medium paced delivery which was bowled straight and Dhoni, without any difficulties, managed to play a huge shot with his high bat lift. It got enough distance to clear the ropes and became the welcome boundary for India after Yuvi's Six! Very next ball was put away for boundary as well by Dhoni. Marginally width was offered and Dhoni punished that delivery to a four in offside.
Smith was frustrated a lots. He might have thought too that SA should have gone with Botha instead of Kemp(who was bowling his first over). The frustrations increased further when Uthappa managed to smash two 4's in the same over towards the end.
Overall, Twenty runs came from this over which helped India a bit to boost the confidence level. But still the required run rate is high for India with 50 runs to get from final three overs.
Can India Do It?
Well, with twenty runs from that last over, India's hope of winning this game is still Alive. But its never going to be easy. The last three overs, probably should be bowled by Kallis, Steyn and Pollock. And its to be noted that all these three bowlers were most impressive right from their ball 1. Have to wait and see, what/how Indian batsmen are going to do in last three overs. Can India win its first T20? or SA going to pull it off easily? Stay Tuned!
