India In SouthAfrica
India Vs SouthAfrica

Twenty20 Match,Johannesburg.
End of 19 Overs, 2nd Innings.

India Need 23 Runs from 6 Balls.
( Can India get their first ever T20 win? )

Well, with more than 16 runs needed per over for India, batsmen were equipped with massive pressure. There was also huge tension observed from both the dressing rooms. Spectators of SouthAfrican side were seen filled with more happiness than Indian fans. With just 3 overs left, Smith had no other better choice than continuing with Kallis, Pollock and Steyn. All these three were very much impressive right from their first delivery of this match.

Overs : 17.1 to 17.3(Kallis Spell).

Overs : 17.1 :-
Uthappa was on the strikers end. Kallis delivered a straight ball which was of normal pace. And batsmen went over it blindly aiming for a big one but Uthappa didn't get the timing right. It resulted in a nice top edge which made the ball to go very high in air.. but it landed no-man's area and outfield was fast enough to help Uthappa in getting a boundary. Chase was attempted by a fielder but was in vain. He was just able to watch the ball coming towards him after hitting the boundary ropes.

Overs : 17.2 :-
This time, Kallis bowled near the offstump line which resulted in slight width for batsman.. Uthappa, without any mistakes, made full use of it by playing a flashy cover drive. Gibbs made a huge attempt to prevent the ball but its(ball's) pace of travelling towards the boundary was quicker than Gibbs. Bowler was very much frustrated with those two boundaries from his first two deliveries. SouthAfrican skipper was disappointed too. This brought the Indian crowd ALIVE too. Some cheering came from dressing rooms too.

Overs : 17.3 :-
Kallis varied the pace quite cleverly.. It was a slow delivery this time, but it was well read by Uthappa. He swept that one with ease and it went straight to Pollock near the boundary ropes. It just added a single to Indian scorecard.

Crucial Blow : Dhoni Tempted & Dismissed.

Overs : 17.4 :-
Once again, Kallis came up with a slower delivery. Dhoni, in temptation to go over that slow ball, came down the track and with his huge bat lift, he tried to hit a huge one... but unfortunately, batsman was deceived. Ball failed to make any contacts with the bat and it went straight towards the stumps. This resulted in clean bowled.

Dhoni was disappointed a lots. Indian spectators turned to stunning silence. Players in Indian dressing kept their hands on their head with shocking looks. It didn't stop SA players from celebrating though. Smith and Kallis were the happiest among all there. It was indeed a big blow for India.

Dhoni's Dismissal.

The replay showed that line and length were perfect too which created more difficulties for batsmen to put that away for maximum. That too, under such pressure situations, these type of mistakes are quite expected to occur though. So, the experience(of Kallis) clearly spoke out in this situation.

Anyways, its over for Dhoni.. He returned to pavilion with his face down. Rohit Sharma walked in as a new batsman. And this seems to be a massive pressure debut too for Sharma. ;)

Some Useful Boundaries from Sharma.

Overs : 17.5 :-
It was expected from Rohit to give strike to Uthappa(who was in nice touch with the bat), but Rohit showed his confidence directly.

The very first International delivery to Rohit was around the offstump.. Batsman judged it wisely and played a delibrate cheeky shot behind the stumps. Ball went just near to keeper but Boucher's dive ended up in vain as ball managed to go past the keeper and reached the boundary ropes. This should be a dream start for any debut batsman.

Overs : 17.6 :-
It was another straight delivery from Kallis. Rohit managed to play a leg glance and took a single to maintain his strike in next over.

Smith wasn't that happy though as there were three boundaries in Kallis over. After some discussion, Smith gave the ball to Pollock.

Last Over :- 4,4,1,W,4,1 ( 14 Runs, 1 Wicket )

Overs : 18.1 :-
Pollock pitched his very first ball of the second spell near the middle stumps and it moved a bit towards leg side.. Rohit Sharma read and played that brilliantly in leg side. He smashed it with his full strength and ball went like a rocket to the fence. Kallis, who was the fielder, was just able to give a stare after that boundary.

Pollock was also frustrated like his skip. He gave a sarcastic look at the young man, Rohit Sharma. He(batsman) received full applauses from Indian spectators side as a encouragement to his promising start to international career.

Overs : 18.2 :-
Pollock delivered straight away in the block hole. Still, Rohit managed to play a defensive stroke and took a quick single giving Uthappa, the strike! Inspite of these regular boundaries, pressure kept on climbing for the batsmen.

Pollock Winning the Mind Game.

Overs : 18.3 :-
It was a slow delivery bowled to Uthappa. Batsman went over it quickly without properly reading that one. As a result, Uthappa didn't get the perfect timings and ball went straight away in the air.. and ended as an easy catch to Villiers.

This was another huge blow for India. SouthAfrican players started celebrating this big wicket. Uthappa walked back quickly to pavilion with lot of frustrations. Irfan Pathan walked in as the new batsman. It was very unfortunate that Uthappa wasn't able to convert his good start into a match winning one. Nevermind, he did receive great applauses while walking back to pavilion.

Pathan Too Joined Uthappa Soon.

Overs : 18.4 :-
It was a straight delivery from Pollock. But Pathan played it nicely in offside with excellent footwork. That managed to pick the gaps very well and ended up in another boundary in this over.

Some confidence was seen in Pathan's face after that boundary. Pollock was disappointed though. Smith changed his field slightly to prevent boundaries. Pathan's confidence was very short lived though. He was dismissed in very second ball of his innings.

Overs : 18.5 :-
Pollock didn't change the line this time but varied his length. Pathan smashed it in leg side to get the maximum distance.. but the ball, though got enough distance, didn't get the enough height. It went flat and straight to Botha, who was standing near the boundary. And it ended up as an easy catch to the fielder.

Pollock, once again won this mind battle with the batsman. With regular fall of crucial wickets, asking task for India looked almost impossible for India with only specialist batsman left for India, Rohit Sharma. New batsman, Murali Karthik replaced Pathan at the crease.

Runs in Any Form, Counts!

Overs : 18.6 :-
A beautiful delivery was bowled to Murali Karthik.. It pitched between middle and leg stumps(for left hander) and started to move into the batsman as soon as after pitching. Karthik made a huge swing with his bat and managed to get a good inside edge.

Ball, after that inside edge, managed to go behind the batsman between his pads for a boundary. It was indeed, a lucky boundary. But all counts at this crucial stage. This finished Pollock's great over with two big/important wickets though there were some boundaries smashed.

Last Over :- 4,1,W,4,W,4 ( 13 Runs, 2 Wickets )

Well, with just one over remaining, India need 23 runs from last over which is going to be a big asking rate from Indians. At the same time, it is neither impossible too. All India need is, some big boundaries from Rohit Sharma which will apply pressure on SA. With Steyn left for that one over remaining, its going to be interesting to see what & how India going to do.. Can India get their first T20? Can Rohit Sharma make this as an unforgettable debut? Can Smith's men take this game with ease? Stay Tuned to know about the last thrilling over. :)

India : 187/7( 19 Overs, SA :209/9)
Rohit Sharma : 10*(4)
Murali Karthik : 4*(1)

I.Pathan : 4(2) Dismissed by Pollock.
R.Uthappa : 34(17) Dismissed by Pollock.
MS Dhoni : 15(8) Dismissed by Kallis.
Yuvraj Singh : 83(51) Dismissed by Botha.
S.Raina : 24(21) Dismissed by Kallis.
V.Sehwag : 8(8) Dismissed by Pollock.
G.Gambhir : 0(2) Dismissed by Steyn.

India need 23 from 6 Balls.

A very good but expensive over there by Pollock. Its very difficult for India to win this one. 23 off the last over. Its difficult but not impossible.

I can't wait for the next update!

Great update!

Excellent update again Suren!! Showing why you won story of the month!!

Superb works on the screens Suren. You put effort and commitment into your updates. That is why everyone loves this story so much. About the result...Sorry Suren bhai....but !GAME! !SET! & !MATCH! South Africa. Superb works man. Keep it up.

awesome gfx and update with ball by ball
tension up and the south africans look good
COME ON INDIA !!!!!

23 off the last over is manageable with Rohit Sharma on strike. He will have to face all the 6 balls remaining if India want to win this one. However India needs only boundaries at this stage and their only problem is the number of wickets in hand. I feel that India will win this one. Nice presentation Suren:)
