India In SouthAfrica
India Vs SouthAfrica

Twenty20 Match,Johannesburg.
End of 19.5 Overs, 2nd Innings.

India Need 3 Runs from 1 Ball.
( Sharma's heroics taking the game to a last ball thriller )

Well, with just one over remaining, Smith gave the ball to Steyn who had been impressive right from the start of this game. Long discussions went on between Smith and his players. They are well aware that they can't let the game slip away after putting lot of efforts in this. Meanwhile, both the batsmen also had some message from dressing room through change of gloves for Rohit Sharma. :p

Steyn's Final Spell : The First Ball.

over191xw5.jpg

Overs : 19.1 :-
With the appropriate field setup, Steyn came running in to deliver the first ball of this final thrilling over. As soon as Steyn started his runner up, there was a huge roaring noise from spectators of both sides. Each and every player in Indian dressing room looked tense and were eagerly waiting to see the outcome. Even Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly(who were not playing today), looked so much involved into this thriller.

And, the first ball was around off stumps. It was not a bad delivery but Sharma was more watchful to put that away in offside and found the gaps perfectly between the inner circle fielders. Though the shot didn't have enough power to take the ball towards the ropes. Its all because of the nervousness that Sharma had before facing this ball. Anyways, it didn't affect the running though. They(batsmen) managed to pick a quick couple of runs.

This couple of runs, though they were crucial, didn't look sufficient from India's point of view. All they(India) need is, " Boundaries " and not 1's and 2's. Smith was still working busily with his fielders.

.... India Need 21 Runs from 5 Balls....

Steyn's Final Spell : The Second Ball.

over192mv9.jpg

Overs : 19.2 :-
Steyn went back and got ready to bowl his next delivery. Very next delivery was an attempted yorker. Steyn aimed at the block-hole and delivered a straight delivery.

Fortunately for India, Sharma was quick enough to pick that delivery as a low full toss. It was smashed in leg side and ball made a clean contact with middle of the bat. This time, it went between the gaps of the boundary fielders. Power of Sharma's shot was enough to carry the ball towards the boundary ropes. This brought every Indian supporter Alive again and they started cheering more. Sharma even received applauses from dressing room.

Smith and Steyn were not happy though. In particular, Steyn was frustrated a lots since his yorker turned out as a juicy low full toss. Some small adjustments to the field was made by Smith.

.... India Need 17 Runs from 4 Balls.... Tension!

Steyn's Final Spell : (Un)Lucky Third Ball.

over193ld6.jpg

Overs : 19.3 :-
Steyn had some advice from his experienced team mate, Pollock. Smith also encouraged his bowler not to loose hopes so easily. Roaring noise from crowd turned even more wild.... Steyn started to run for the next ball.

And this time, Steyn pitched between middle and offstumps and managed to get some swing as well as some extra bounce. Sharma went for the shot in offside blindly. As a result, ball didn't make any clean contact with the bat.. instead, there was a thick edge. It was very unfortunate for Steyn that ball didn't carry to keeper.

It(ball) went past the keeper and started to slow down on its way. Boucher was found chasing that ball but in the end, keeper had no luck that he had to give up his long chase since it(ball) managed to cross the boundary ropes. Not very often, we could see the keeper chasing the ball till the boundary ropes... Boucher did try his best to save a boundary but didn't succeed.

Sharma was lucky enough to get that bonus boundary. He immediately looked towards the sky and closed his eyes. May be, he was hoping for some more luck. :p

.... India Need 13 Runs from 3 Balls....Tension! Tension!!

Steyn's Final Spell : Huge Fourth Ball.

over194re9.jpg

Overs : 19.4 :-
Two successive boundaries created pressure on both the sides. Especially both Smith and Sharma were under massive pressure. But the supports and encouragements they(SA and Ind) were receiving was also great. Stadium looked too noisy which created pressure to Umpires as well. So tension, pressure and excitements all seemed to exist everywhere.

Steyn got ready for his next delivery. This time, it was a straight one again and bowler was hoping for the batsman to make some mistake. Infact, Sharma judged it very well and went for a huge shot in leg side. The ball went very high in the air and got sufficient distance to clear the ropes for Maximum! Not a very huge six though it was big enough.

Crowd were going more and more wild. After all, its being a brilliant entertainment for them. ;) Three successive boundaries brought back the hopes of Indian win once again ALIVE! Smith was completely frustrated with Sharma's approach. He(Smith) need atleast a dot ball to save this match. SouthAfrican skipper did all his best to stop the boundaries but they(boundaries) are coming still.

.... India Need 7 Runs from 2 Balls....Tension! Tension!! Tension!!!

Steyn's Final Spell : Fifth Ball Under Pressure.

over195kl4.jpg

Overs : 19.5 :-
With successive boundaries, India's current situation looked lot better than their previous asking rate(at the beginning of this final over). Bowler was under a lot of pressure as well to deliver a perfect line/length ball without any extras.

Steyn delivered his crucial fifth delivery and it was once again, Sharma outsmarting the bowler. Batsman read the length exceptionally well and smashed it on the offside. Ball went over Villiers(inner circle fielder) head and bisected the boundary fielders too. This fetched yet another boundary for Indian team.

Bowler and Smith were looking clueless as how to stop these boundary flows. Spectators continued their jumpings over the seats with excitements. Players and coach from dressing room didn't even move their eyes.. they were waiting so curiously for the final outcome of this match.

.... India Need 3 Runs from 1 Balls....What's gonna happen???

Its the Mind Battle between Three now!

over196previewkl7.jpg

Well, all India need is just another boundary to win its first Twenty20 match. SouthAfrican skipper, Smith was just clueless as they slipped down from such a dominating position to a " do/die" position! Encouragements from spectators and dressing rooms to both the teams are still looking great. With just one delivery remaining in this match, & just 3 runs to get for India, this match seem to be evenly poised. It can go in either way.

Can Rohit bring a dream victory for his team? Can Smith/Steyn prevent the batsman from getting yet another boundary? Can SA avoid no ball/free hit in the final & crucial match deciding delivery?

Well, The Viewers can make their guesses about this thrilling climax which is about to get Over! :) Stay Tuned.
