LARA & SARWAN BROUGHT THE BALANCE TO SOME EXTENT!!!​

Lara and Sarwan played with extreme confidence and were trying to bring the lost balance...But the lost balance was too far to bring it back though these two restored it to some extent!!! McGrath,Lee,Symonds and Hogg had terrible spells after 40 overs!!!

LARA ON FIRE...

Lara after reaching his fifty was looking very very aggressive... Thats what the pitch's nature i.e if the batsman seems to be well settled then he can enjoy batting... lara did the same.. he was steady but picking the runs at the same time and now he is in full contol of hitting the ball everywhere.... Ponting was little worries as he wants the wicket of Lara badly!!!

Sarwan Joins the Party with Lara

Sarwan also joined Lara in the aggressive role and played some fireworks all around... Symonds was brought in as a change thinking that it wud cause some damage but these two never minded who the bowler was... The most interesting thing was when McGrath was brought in to finish the final spell!!!

Sarwan Treats McGrath With a Huge Six!!!

Sarwan smashed McGrath's first ball to a huge six...Windies fans in the arena were jumping with great joy... and Lara must be thinking to finish Windies with some good competetive score on the scorecard.... The fielding was also changed a bit!!! Next over Lee was brought back!!!

Sarwan Departs!!!

Sarwan came to the striker's end when Lee was bowling his final spell.... He bowled a slow deliver and Sarwan was onto the shot very soon and as a result, the ball stayed up in the air for sometime and found the fielder there near the boundary... Sarwan was worried while returning to pavilion!!!

Smith's Confidence Start

Smith was the new batsman at the crease... Lee had two balls to bowl and the over was 46th!!!

First Ball :- Lee bowled an inswinging yorker but Smith smashed away confidently that took the maximum distance resulting in a big Six!!! Lee was frustrated and so the capatain!!!

Second Ball :- Lee bowled a bit slower than previous delivery but Smith managed to get a Four in that delivery!!! This was a great confidence start by Smith!!!

LARA REACHES CENTURY

Glen McGrath was bowling to Lara when he was on 96!!! Lara smashed the first of McGrath to a great Six on off side and reaches century in style... This century really helped Windies to get back to the game to some extent!!! He raises his bat proudly and recieves standing appluses from every one!!!

McGrath cannot believe his own eyes that he was being smashed by Lara... He nodded his head and went to bowl the next delivery!!! And Ten Runs came in that over...

BALL TRAVELLING OUT OF THE STADIUM!!!

In the replay it was observed that the fielder was able to only observe the ball going out of the stadium!!!

FINAL THREE OVERS!!!

Ponting doesnt want to change either McGrath or Lee as both Clarke and Watson finished their spells early.. So the skipper continued with these to itself to bowl the final three overs!!!

SMITH DISMISSED BY LEE

Smith was at the striker's ender facing Lee!!! Lee attempted an yorker but it ended with an full toss resulting in smashing of Smith... But it was also in vain as the ball didnt get the distance. As a result,it finded the fielder Watson there... Lee picks his third Wicket!!! There was some cheers in captain's face.

LARA AND HINDS CONTINUED THE FIREWORKS!!!

Hinds joined Lara as the new batsman but was confident enough to carry on the situation left there..Both were firing all aoround the wicket and 200 reached for Windies quickly!!! Lara was looking unstoppable..and he played an great rescued role!!!

Lee was onto bowl the final 50th over of the innings.....

LARA DISMISSED BY LEE FINALLY!!!

Lara in attempting to smash the ball over the rope was caught by McGrath near the boundary and it ended as a simple catch!!! Finally Lara was dismissed..... Lee got his fourth wicket!!! Lara returned to pavilion proudly as he has done the job of taking windies to some good total at the end...."Something is better than nothing"

The last two balls were smashed for fours by Hinds!!!

BATTING CARD

Lara's contribution of 116 is more than 50% of the teamscore(217)!!! He spent time in the middle and played aggressive role in the end!!!

Chanderpaul played the worst role off all getting 13(89) without a single boundary... atleast 50 runs from those deliveries faced wud have made a huge difference to the scorecard!!

Hinds and Sarwan accelerated the scorecard along with Lara!!!

BOWLING CARD

S.Clark and Watson were economical but no wickets!!!

McGrath was smashed at the end nicely by Lara, Sarwan and Hinds!!!

Lee was the only man who seem to threaten Windies with his fast deliveries but was also in vain against Lara ( Though he managed to dismiss Lara at the end)!! Lee picked 4 out of 6 wickets fallen and three maidens in the first spell looked very impressive!!!


Australia need to get 218 now but that was slightly more than the expected windies total ( i.e at one stage they were 62/2 of 32 overs)!!!

GILCHRIST's AMAZING FIREWORKS OFF THE FISRT OVER!!!​

Australian openers Gilchrist and Watson came to the crease with the required rate above 4 per over!!! Well the target was low as compared to Australian's level but Windies were contented due to the pitch's nature.....Gilchrist faced the new ball bowled by Lawson.

18 runs in First Over!!!

Ball 1 : Lawson bowled an quick delivery and Gilchrist with a great confidence played his favourite shot on legside resulting in a Huge Six... That was an amazing start to any ODIs with a six.... Australian Fans in the arena started jumping from the seats after looking at this great six!!!

Ball 2 : Lawson bowled a slow delivery near the block hole and Gilchrist just kept a stroke

Ball 3 : Lawson delivered a offside delivery which was punched to big six again... Lawson was frustrated and again this delivery was a quick one... So Gilli just making use of the pace and his power cunningly!!!

Ball 4 : Lawson attempted an slow yorker and Gill quite contented to defend that!!!

Ball 5 : Lawson moved the ball bit and also it kept low..Gilli doesnt want to go at this delivery but it mived between the pads of the wicket keepr to four Byes!!!

Ball 6 : It was an short pitched delivery which Gilli played an superb backfoot shot managing to get Two Runs!!!
