End Of 20 Overs, Game In Balance!

( Flintoff & Pieterson Restores the Balance )

goodpairjd5.jpg

Mortaza and Hossain were stopped from the bowling and Bangla skipper decided to introduce the spin attack! Rafique was introduced in one end and to everyone's suprise, Bangla skipper shouldered the responsibility by bringing himself on from other end! It seemed to be little tough for the batsmen to play the spinners under light!

The dew factor also started playing its role now! It decreased the pace of outfield and also at the same time, spinners were having some problem in gripping the ball. Flintoff and Pieterson took some time to settle against the spinners!

But both were very watchful and their intension of rotating strikes and keep the scoreboard moving without sacrificing the wicket, was very clear! Also they played some excellent shots off bad deliveries. Ashraful seemed to be effective at first but later on, went for runs! At the same time Rafique is trying to create opportunity but both the batsmen are watchful enough to deny it! Also, Flintoff reached his fifty and raised the bat proudly and recieved applauses from everywhere... This has been vital innings so far by Flintoff under great pressure!

Well, 20 Overs ended and the scoring rate of England is just below 6 per Over but the good thing for England is they didnt loose any wickets in last 10 Overs!

England :- 117/2(20)
Flintoff : 58*(49)
Pieterson : 34*(40)

Trescothick : 17(25) Dismissed by Mortaza
Required Run rate: 6.87/Over

england are getting behind the run rate, but with KP and Freddie in they are still in the game

freedie and Kp are looking in good form.........Hope they will stay at crease till 40 overs

Chennai curator must have done an excellent job with the pitch here.
As mehkar says, one of them will have to stay throughout the innings to ensure that they don't run into still waters.

Why is Bashar bowling! No! It should be Rafique, Saleh and Manjural Islam Rana!!!
Ok, now he needs to keep mixing it up. Swap ends, short spells, different angles, vary the pace and flight. Keep the singles to a minimum, and tempt them to hit over the top.

Zorax, Bangla skipper for this series is Ashraful! He is in EA as an allronder! :) So it was Ashraful bowling with Rafique!

News Flash:- Flintoff Departs

( Huge Breakthrough for Bangladesh )

flinouthr3.jpg

well, Ashraful continued from one end and Rafique was stopped from attack that made M.Islam to bowl in Rafique's end. Again Bangla suprised everyone with Ashraful getting his first wicket.

Flintoff was tempted with the slow delivery that forced him to sweep over the top but unfortunately, the ball didnt get enough distance and landed in Bashar's hand safely!

This was a huge blow for England as Flintoff was looking threatening right from the start. Ashraful was delighted a lot and also the whole Bangla team was celebrating with huge joy in the middle. Flintoff was unhappy while returning to the pavilion and that brought Collingwood to join Pieterson!

Huge Pressure on this pair now and Bangladesh is looking very promising in this match throughout!

Whooo!
Game, set and match folks. One more of these two, and it's all over. And there is plenty of spin to come.
201 runs needed, at 7.18 per over.
C'mon Bangla!! :)

End Of 30 Overs!

( Pieterson Battling Alone now For England! )

well, after Flintoff's wicket, huge responsibility mounted on KP's shoulders. Pieterson is handling that well too.. Collingwood was expected to give some support and also he started his supporting role too.. but Bangla once again suprised with the wicket of slow delivery!

Collinwood's Dismissal Increases Pressure For England!

collyoutxv1.jpg

M.Islam striked for Bangladesh this time. He was actually teasing Collingwood with slow deliveries, & Colly was trying his level best to pick the gaps but it founded the fielder most of the times... Finally in one of the deliveries, he smashed a once bounce four of the slow ball.

But Islam continued teasing Colly with the slow delivery and frustrated Colly went for a sweep shot which was improperly timed and as a result, it ended in a top edge and the ball once again landed safely in Bashar's hands. Bashar took two catches now and also the mode of dismissal ( sweep ) was similar in both and also, the slow delivery doing the trick once again!

Bangladesh was extremely delighted and the whole team was jumping with joy and tension was found in England dressing room. England coach was very much tensed in particular! Collingwood made his way towards the dressing room and Dalrymple arrived at the crease to join Pieterson.

Golden Chance Missed By Bangla!

( Wonder what Islam was doing there ? :) )

goldenchancepw6.jpg

In the same over, Dalrymple played a shot straight to the bowler and Pieterson was found out of the crease looking at his partner.... M.Islam was the bowler and he picked it up cleanly too but stood quietly looking at Pieterson without even attempting to hit the stumps! The replay showed that Pieterson was many inches away from the crease and Islam seemed to have missed the golden run out chance here! Its Pieterson who was in danger end and this golden miss might play an huge role in the last part of the innings as Pieterson holds the England's Key now!

Pieterson,The Lonely Warrior For England!

kpsuperfz0.jpg

Pieterson was not at all affected by the wickets falling in other end. He was continuing his natural game and now he took the threatening role left by Flintoff. Pieterson was playing shots all around the ground and was in complete control.

He played some excellent shots like cover drives, sweep shots including reverse sweeps and also beautiful shots! He was also getting sixes apart from the fours! In other words, Pieterson is the only man to hold the key for England and he is now the nightmare for Bangla bowlers!

Well, 30 Overs ended and the asking rate still remains high above 7 per over!

England :- 180/4(30)
Dalrymple: 5*(5)
Pieterson : 79*(70)

Collingwood : 9(18) Dismissed by M.Islam
Required Rate : 7.15/Over

if pieterson continues to stay at the crease then england should win this. love the run out situation. much like at the waca

Game Reaching The Climax!

( Its Pieterson Vs Bangla now )

After 30 overs, Bangla was continuing the spin attacks further from Ashraful,Rafique,Islam and Saleh with Mortaza (pace bowler) bowling only one over! Pieterson was looking solid and was unaffected by the spinners! Bowlers are really hunting for this wicket.. Also it was a good support provided by Dalrymple in other end. He played an handy 20+ innings but his support did not last long as M.Islam striked again!

Dalrymple ~ Victim of Low Full Toss!

dalrympledepartssn3.jpg

M.Islam attempted an yorker length ball that ended in the low full toss! Dalrymple was tempted by this and went to play an huge shot in legside. The timing of the shot did not go well & once again, it resulted in the top edge but this time, the ball was very high in the air. Nafees was running tracking the path of the ball and finally he was able to take an safe catch dismissing Dalrymple!

It was another crucial wicket as Dalrymple seemed to be a set batsman with quick 20+ giving a good support to Kp, but Islam striked for Bangla at the right time. The team was once again brought together for celebration and Dalrymple went to pavilion with worried face. G.Jones was the new batsman joining KP in the middle.

Pieterson, Almost Dismissed!

( Narrow Miss, Another Close Chance for Bangla )

kpmisswa2.jpg

Saleh almost about to celebrate the huge wicket of Pieterson but cannot believe his eyes that ball missed the stumps. He bolwed an normal delivery which Pieterson tried to play an cut shot but was decieved and the ball went towards the stumps... Pieterson was very lucky as that ball narrowly missed the bails and infact resulted in four byes! Its the second chance for Pieterson... Should be Very Lucky today! :)

Pieterson,Fighting For Victory!

pietersonfightingru5.jpg

well, in the same time, Pieterson has been the only threat now for Bangla bowlers. Pieterson played some excelent shots all around the ground and was looking to keep strike most of the times! Its been a complete matured display from Pieterson.

Ashraful now has no idea as how to take this crucial wicket.. He has tried different spin options but the luck was completely in favour of Pieterson. The field was also adjusted a lots to make sure that boundaries doesnt come often... Still, this man ( Pieterson ) was able to pick the gaps nicely bringing the regular boundaries for England!

Excellent Century!

kpcenturyll4.jpg

Meanwhile, Pieterson also brought his ODI century which came under huge pressure. He raised his bat proudly to the crowd and everyone gave warm applauses.. He recieved praises even from the dressing room inspite of the tension existing there! The coach is clueless of whats going to happen in last remaining overs.

All depends on one Man, Pieterson! He is important for both the sides... i.e, His wicket is needed for Bangladesh to turn the game towards them and He is needed to stay till the end to make it for England.

England :- 241/5(40)
G.Jones: 8*(12)
Pieterson : 111*(99)

Dalrymple : 21(24) Dismissed by M.Islam
England Require 82 Runs from 60 Balls.
