So close but yet so far. Probably the biggest upset in the history of English cricket. (Even though its in the game)

Congratulations to Bangladesh though for first setting a massive target and then picking up wickets regularly.

Oh fishsticks! England suffer great embarrassment in this game.

Oh the shame!

well done by the bangladeshi's to eliminate the English, a huge upset in the tournament already...just shows how intersting the tournament will shape up to be....keep it up

Nice to see England beaten by Bangladesh. Hopefully Bangladesh can continue this form.

Were you playing as Bangla Surren? Cause that probably explains why they one.

When the England innings was about to start, I had said - Go get 'em Mortaza.....and it was he who got 'em :D ...

I am going to celebrate this victory by going to the nearest pub :D and gulping down 5 glasses of ...ah....er....Orange Juice :D :D

I hope you enjoy that orange juice Jacob :D

What is the next game Surrendar?

I was playing as England Leftie! The stump to stump line by CPU made tough for English and also the field in last 10 Overs was widespread that made boundaries little tough!

Also Pieterson's departure in 46th over created an huge impact!

WHOOOOO! :)
Go BANGLA!
Aftab wasn't suited to this pitch, Rafique and Manjural should have bowled more. But we won, so I'm happy nonetheless :)

(With Sunil Gavaskar & Geoffrey Boycott )

S.G : Hello and welcome back to the new show called " Fourth Umpire " which is going to be analysis show like we had Cricket cafe for DLF cup. We have Mr.Boycott with us to discuss all the detailed analysis of today's match which is the first match of the Chapions trophy, Elimination Round.

S.G : Well Geoffrey, today's match was so exciting right from the start of the first ball till the last ball.... wahts ur opinion on Today's match?

G.B : It was full of suprises... Its one of the close battles i have ever witnessed! But Bangladesh doing this, suprised everyone. I was infact biting my nail til Pieterson got out ;) Its very unfortuante for England to loose by close margin... Just 3 Runs in big tournament... oh dear.. this wud be unforgettable for England for ever!

S.G : Yes Geoffrey, loosing by 3 Runs is unlucky... But Bangladesh played well, didnt they Geoffrey?

G.B : yes, they did play well! But it was the 100% batting track... Bangla openers did well that established the initial platform and ended well by their skipper Ashraful smashing 20 Runs in the last over. That last over wud have made difference to the whole match as the victory margin is only three rusns!

S.G : Inspite of the batting track offered to both the teams, one bowler impressed in the entire match! It was England's Sajid Mahmood. He was bowling extremely good and infact i now feel England should have tried to open him with Hoggard sharing the new ball.

This is how bowling map looks,

Only Impressive Bowler!

sajidbowlingmapat3.jpg

G.B : There u can see that he didnt try too much and was most of the time was targetting the stumps with good line.. i.e stump to stump line where he had got many dot balls. Also the deliveries which he was offering width went for runs. This was what the mistake, all other bowlers did!

S.G : Talking about all the bowlers, there was another man who impressed in the second innings! It was Mortaza... He played an key role today picking five important wickets!

G.B : well, though he picked five wickets, Mortaza had to learn a lot as he was offering more width in few deliveries that was smashed to sixes! But at the same time, he varied his pace well by suprising the batsmen with magnificent yorkers! It was really impressive when he was bowling in the last ten overs where he didnt provide much width and was mainly targetting the stumps like Mahmood.

S.G : Those width providing deliveries which u were talking about was the main reason for his economy rate of 7 :) But still, he did an fantastic job of picking wickets in regular interavls.

G.B : More importantly, Pieterson's wicket! ;)

S.G : yes Geoffrey, that turned the whole match's direction! Now Coming to Pieterson's innings, all i can say is, it was a top class display by pieterson there!

G.B : I enjoyed a lots from commentary box :) especially when one of the ball seemed to go out of the stadium, i was literally jumping ;) But unlucky that he ended in a loosing side!

S.G : Thats sad though... It shd be a sleepless night today for Pietrson i guess! Anyways, this is how Pieterson batted today,

Pieterson Vs Bangladesh

kpspiderta3.jpg

G.B : what can i say on this innings :( Bad luck that his magnificent performance did not help England in the last! But he was lonely battling in the middle after Flintoff departed!

S.G : Thats right.. No contribution from openers, Except Flintoff, Pieterson got no support from other end! But it all happens in cricket that too in ODIs... Lots of suprises wud strike anytime!

G.B : At the same time, equal hard work was observed from the entire Bangla team. Both the teams worked hard and it was Bangla who was qualified in the end & England forced to return home to prepare for Ashes!

S.G : Now its time up Geoffrey to go to our special segments of the day!

First we will start with Star Sports Master Blaster of the Day,

S.G : Well Nafees,Omar and Ashraful had a great start to their innings but one man who really impressed the entire stadium was Kevin Pieterson and he is our Master Blaster of the day!

mbtitleyh7.jpg

kpsuperfz0.jpg

G.B : Just one word, " Amazing " to describe his innings even though he ended up in loosing side! Batting under lights is somewat difficult than in afternoon and hence is our Master Blaster of the Day!

S.G : Now, Super Moment of the day... Its well known that Pieterson's wicket changed the direction of entire game and hence its our Super Moment of the Day!

smtitlemc8.jpg

kpoutmk2.jpg

G.B : His innings really threatened the entire Bangla team and even i myself thought that Pieterson wud end as match winner again! No doubts that this wicket has brought Bangladesh's victory and hence its rightly the " Super Moment of the Day " :)

S.G : Now moving to last segment, Safe hands award.... Well, it should be Hossain who caught the brilliant catch to dismiss Pieterson... But since it has already in the super moment segment, we had chosen another fantastic catch taken by M.Islam to dismiss Hoggard which is Safe hands of the day!

safehandstitleuk2.jpg

hoggrdoutwy2.jpg

G.B : Well, i also go with Hossain's catch as the best one but this one by Islam is also an fantastic effort! diving in front is not an easy job too! ;)

S.G : So Geoffrey, that brings us to the end of the show.. Final word from u?

G.B : Pieterson had an amaaaaazinng performance with the bat but all the eleven players for Bangla worked with team spirit that outsmarted this one man show of England!

S.G : Well said, but that shd be two man show as Flintoff also played well! But anyways, Bangaldesh won a very close contest with England and they are now qualified to play against one of the strongest side in cricket, Australia in next match.

S.G : And that ends this show and hope everyone enjoyed it... Also Thanks Geoffrey for the nice analysis! And thats all from the studio,we will join u in next show for the match between SriLanka and NewZealand! Now we will take you directly to the presentation Ceremony with Ravi Shastri! Stay Tuned On Star Sports!

G.B :Bye! :)

R.S : Hello and Welcome to the presentation ceremony of the first match of the Champions trophy which provided excitement and entertainment throughout the match! Well nearly 650 Runs were scored today and Bangladesh in the end were able to qualify this elimination round by winning England today!

R.S : Now lets go to the presentation... Now i like to call England Captain, Andrew Strauss.... Andrew can u please come up to the stage to have few words with us!

R.S : Well Tough Luck Andrew, i guess its been a bad day today?

Strauss, England Skipper

strausspresentationzy9.jpg

Andrew Strauss said:
Yeah Ravi, its been a tough day for us... we were able to come close to the target but at the end, we were not able to make it! Pieterson played well and also Bangla bowlers did well in the last part of the innings... Also the huge target of 320+ mounted pressure on us eventhough it was the batting track!

R.S : well, when 323 was set on the board as the target, did u think that it can be achieved?

Andrew Strauss said:
Since it was a batting track, we had hopes of achieving it and infact we were very close enough today! Having Pieterson stayed till the end, i guess we wud have achieved it! But we openers, myself and Tresco failed to give a good start that added extra pressure on our team! So the first fifteen overs were not that good for us having lost the wickets where Bangladesh gained upper hand!

R.S : Also the bowlers were struggling on this track but Sajid was able to do extremely well?

Andrew Strauss said:
Sajid bowled brilliantly today but very unfortunate that he was able to get only one wicket today! Bowling looked bad may be becos of this track but we hope to improve more before Ashes!

R.S :Thanx Andrew and Good Luck for Ashes!

Andrew Strauss said:
Thanx Ravi!

R.S : Well, now the Winning Captain of Bangladesh, Ashraful... Can u please come up to the stage to have some words with us?

R.S : Ashraful, first of all congrads for the classic victory over one of the strong teams.... U shd be happy today? ;)

Ashraful, Winning Skipper

asgrafulpresentationta8.jpg

Ashraful said:
Thanx Ravi.. I am totally speechless now actually :)

The match was swinging to and for with Pieterson playing an nice innings! Full credits to Mortaza in bowling department for getting Pieterson in end that opened the window of victory for us! Also our openers did well!

R.S : When u got 322 in the end, did u think its match winning score?

Ashraful said:
No, since it was batting track we didnt have any hopes till Pieterson departed! We tried our level best and i was also telling our boys that we had done our job in batting & now its turn to work in the field and bowling... Its a entire team effort actually and am so happy that we won today by a close margin! This is definetly one of the historic moment for our team! :happy

R.S : One thing we observed was that, u brought Mortaza in differnt ends and in different spells and the thing is he produced wicket in almost every spells.. Was it a team strategy or a random one?

Ashraful said:
Mortaza once after getting initial two wickets, we i.e myself and Bashar and Mortaza also planned to bring him frequently for short spell of one over hoping to provide some variation in bowling! Infact Mortaza did an superb job for us, getting five crucial wickets! Also other bowlers like Rafique,Islam,Saleh and all did well... As i said before, it was a team effort today! :)

R.S : Now u are going to play against Aussies... any thoughts?

Ashraful said:
Like always, we try our level best and lets see what happens!

R.S : Thanx Ashraful, Good Luck for Next match!

Ashraful said:
Thanx Ravi!:)

R.S : Now lets go to the Man of the Match award! It was tough for us to choose.... Sajid Mahmood who was most impressive.... Omar who played an excellent innings.. Pieterson who dominated through out... But our choice goes to one man who bowled well and brought twist and turns for Bangladesh in taking 5 wickets today that too in the pitch which was considered by Sajid as "Bowlers enemy "! Yes, Its Mortaza, our Man of the Match today!

R.S : Mortaza can u please come to the stage and have few words with us please?

R.S : Firstly Congrads & Feeling happy now? :)

Mortaza, MOTM

mortazamombq6.jpg

Mortaza said:
Thanx and yes, its one of the unforgettable day in my cricket life as we are able to win by a close margin! Also Thanx to my skipper and Bashar for having hope in me to experiment in regular intervals that worked for us!

R.S : Did u like to bowl in this track?

Mortaza said:
It was very flat and was feeling tough to bowl! But i tried my level best and happy that it ended well with a 5 wicket hold!

R.S : When u got Pieterson, how did u feel?

Mortaza said:
Speechless and was not able to believe it for a second! :)

R.S : Yes, i think everyone wud have observed that reaction in Live ;) Thanx Mortaza, and Good Luck against Aussies!

Mortaza said:
Thanx Ravi!

R.S : Well before concluding the presentation ceremony, we like to have few words with Kevin Pieterson who dominated through out his innings! Kevin, can u come up to the stage please to have few words?

Kevin Pieterson

kppresnetationfk8.jpg

R.S : Kevin, It was a bad day for England.. But u seemed to enjoy the whole innings which almost made England to touch the victory line?

Kevin Pieterson said:
Yes, i liked the track to bat.. The ball was coming onto bat nicely and enjoyed myself there! Also its bit worrying to end in the loosing side but it happens in ODIs these days! Both the teams played well today and we failed to utilise the first 15 overs as we lost wickets that costed huge for us in the end!

R.S : 155 Runs in just 120+ balls! I guess this will carry a lots of confidence to Ashes?

Kevin Pieterson said:
It do help me in maintaining the confident level but the track conditions are going to be different! So we all hope to do our level best and wait for the result! And also i like to wish Good Luck for promising Bangladesh side for the next game against Aussies :)

R.S : Thanx Kevin and Good Luck for the next historic Tournament!

Kevin Pieterson said:
Thanx Ravi!

R.S : So That Concludes our Presentation Ceremony! Hope everyone enjoyed this coverage and we will be back to u for the next match between NewZealand and SriLanka! Till then bye from the studio!
