Solid start for England side!!!

PIC2-4.jpg

So England openers Strauss and Cook came to bat. Firstly it was cook who took most of the strike but just when Cook got settled he started giving strike to Strauss. Once Strauss felt that now England need few runs before the lunch he started smashing the bowlers. He was looking very good when he started playing strokes. A class player like him when Strauss gets going bowlers have no clue how to get his wicket. Dhoni was obviously not looking happy but he has an image of "cool captain" so he didn't said much to his bowlers apart from few words. Finally it was end of first session and England were certainly on top. They have lost no wickets till now but what will be the case after the lunch? Would they remain on top or Indian bowlers have some other plans?

Both openers reach there well made fifties...

PIC1-7.jpg

So after the lunch. Both the England team openers came to bat with the intension's of improving the run rate. Before lunch both of them played slowly because they needed to give their team a solid start and they succeeded in it.. After lunch Alastair Cook specially smashed couple of boundaries and then reached his fifty. Soon enough Strauss by taking singles and hitting few boundaries reached his fifty as well.

FIFTYFORCOOK.jpg

FIFTYFORSTRAUSS.jpg

Cook and Strauss raising their bats after reaching to their fifties

So what a solid start for England. Both openers reaching their fifties. A solid start given by the openers. But the question is can England continue batting well? In the first innings we saw Indian middle order collapsing what will happen this time with England?

Both openers make walk back to their pavilion!!!

PIC2-6.jpg

So after getting a good start it seemed that both openers will continue there good batting but no. After a good start both of them were looking a bit nervous,Cook was not able to time the ball and Strauss was not even able to give singles. Pressure was building and Dhoni decided to bring the debuting Kohli into the bowling attack and guess what he took a wicket for his captain. With pitch having less bounce than day 1 Kohli decided to bowl a short delivery,Strauss completely misjudged it because of low bounce and got bowled. After 3 overs even Cook got out. Ishant Sharma used his height and somehow manged some bounce from the pitch,Cook thought to pull it and it went in the air, third man Sreesanth took the catch and India got two crucial wickets. :happy :banana2

Another good partnership building!!!

PIC3-5.jpg

So with both the openers out pressure came back on England side. At the pitch were Eoin Morgan(making his debut) and Kevin Pietersen... They both started off slowly. But the good thing was they were rotating the strike. Dhoni was changing his bowlers cleverly but they were not able to get wickets... Just when the run rate went a bit down both batsmen started smashing boundaries, suddenly the run rate was improving and both the batsmen were looking settled. Kevin and Morgan were looking good at the pitch. Crowd was supporting them and Indians were looking clueless. :what

Two more fifties from England batsmen...

PIC4-5.jpg

So both the batsmen,Morgan and Pietersen continued their good batting. After smashing few boundaries both of them reached their fifties. 4 out of 4 batsmen getting to their fifties. What a great batting display from England batsmen... Kevin Pietersen faced less bowl then Morgan so as usual he paced his innings well.. Morgan on other hand was looking a bit nervous after reaching to his fifty. After reaching to his fifty,Morgan was not even able to take singles. Kevin on other hand was looking great,he was set for a big innings..

Kevin pietersen dominating over the Indian bowlers!!!

PIC5-3.jpg

So Morgan was looking nervous and hence lost his wicket. It was the same man again Virat Kohi... Again Virat Kohli bowled a short delivery and it again kept low and hit the leg of Morgan. Kohli shouted "Howzat!!!" Umpire raised his finger and Indians manged to get a wicket... :happy After Morgan got out Kevin paced his innings and decided to make some crucial runs. In the middle the batsmen were Kevin and Collingwood. Collingwood too had the intension's of hitting boundaries, with just few minutes left for the day 2 play to end Collingwood and Kevin started smashing the bowlers all around the park to improve the run rate. Only because the pitch will change a lot when we will go into day 3 play. Kevin went to 90's and spinners were brought into the attack but even they were not able to do anything and Kevin reached his century. A very well played innings.

CENTURYFORKP.jpg

After few minutes, after Kevin making his century umpires decided to end day 2 play. So a full day play was successfully finished. There are chances of rain tomorrow, hope there will be no rain lets see.

ENG : 329/3
Overs : 92
Extras : 17

Paul Collingwood 29(55)
Kevin Pietersen 106(155)

Last Wicket : Eoin Morgan : 54(96)

England are 19 runs behind

England are in a very strong position now. Indian bowlers need to get some quick wickets or England may well post a big score here.

By the way, it should be 'Both openers reach their well made fifties'

Both openers reach there well made fifties...

Awesome is the word!!!!!!

Not on their score but on your presentation

Thanks for comments guys. :)

@Giggity-I have made those adboards myself.

Aditya your writing has been very good.

But one thing I would say about some pics is that they look stretched.(That's only about some pics)

A SUGGESTION - You can use Fraps + Imageready to have 1-2 animated pics for your presentation. Like Strauss waving his bat etc. It would look great and life like. (You may follow it or not it's your choice)

Few runs and few wickets!!!

PIC1-8.jpg

Pietersen started off the day with attacking batting. He got some quick runs but on other hand Collingwood was struggling to get runs. He took few singles but then got run out. Collingwood played a ball on leg side and called for a single a fielder was there so Pietersen got confused and firstly said yes but then said no. Collingwood was struggling he was at the middle of the pitch then tried to get back and to be safe but got run out. It was a very controversial decision, the question was that where was his bat when he was out? On the line or not? Collingwood was like Oh S*** man! Completely irritated and frustrated. But he had to go back. Soon England lost one more wicket of Pietersen. Yet another controversial decision,Bowl got some spin but Pietersen was on front foot so maybe height factor but in the end out. When Pietersen was going back to the pavilion Sreesanth and he exchanged few words. Then Simon Taufel,Umpire came between them and sorted out the fight.

Quick and Important runs for England!!!

PIC2-7.jpg

So now at the crease the batsmen were Prior and Broad. They both were playing attacking cricket, they knew that the runs now they will make will be very crucial in the final score. The surprising thing was that Broad was playing better than Prior. We have seen in the past that Broad isn't too bad as a batsmen,in fact players like Atherton,Hussain Botham and many more say that Broad should be send up the order because he isn't too bad as a batsmen. Lets get back onto the topic so then after Prior saw Broad hitting boundaries he too joined the party but with just few boundaries before he got out. Dhoni decided to give ball to the fired up man Sreesanth. The fired up Sreesanth came to the bowling crease but his first over was a bit expensive. Then he was given another over and he took the wicket of Prior. Again the low bounce did the trick. Sreesanth tried to bowl it short but got no kind of bounce,Prior thought the ball will get some bounce but no and hence got clean bowled.

Quick runs from Broad and Swann!!!

PIC3-6.jpg

So the next batsmen was Swann. Swann is a good batsmen as well,he has showed in the past that he too should be send up the order but Strauss doesn't think so. Swann was giving strike to Broad and Broad was smashing Indian bowlers all around the park. Broad intension's were clear he will play fast making sure he makes runs for his team. Dhoni expressions were telling that he was like what's happening guys? Can't we get Broad out? Answer was no. :p :laugh Broad was playing mainly on off side even when the fielder were there. Dhoni went absolute clueless. :what

Swann and Broad get out and England inning end!!!

PIC4-6.jpg

Just when Dhoni was getting absolute clueless Broad got out. Suddenly Dhoni was looking happy and he jumped in the air and said "Woohooo!!! A Wicket Finally!!!" Soon even Swann got out and then the last two batsmen Anderson and Plunkett got out. If we go 15 minutes back it seemed that both batsmen are here for a big innings but in 15 minutes gap both batsmen got out in fact 4 batsmen got out. So now time for Indian openers to come to bat.

Sehwag has to with bat too after a brilliant 4-wicket haul. Not to mention Kohli too.

Aditya mate. I think you have improved so much since I last read this story so a big :thumbs from me. Really awesome stuff you have got going here and the match is pretty damn tense as well which helps. Your English and grammar has improved tons, a couple of really small mistakes in there, but nothing too major and certainly when reading this I am enjoying it, so you are doing something right ;)

Nice to see Morgan perform well at 3, but the big stand-out performance has gotta be KP, superb stuff from him. Hopefully, the England bowlers can carve the Indian batsmen up now and get a good victory ;)

Everything is going fine.
But resizing images is the thing, on which you gotta concentrate a bit:).
Check this image.:facepalm. It'd have been fine if you'd have resized the left most image a bit using "ALT+CLRT+I" in photoshop.:yes.

Binnu added 10 Minutes and 23 Seconds later...

And Adi, how about the image below as your scorecard??

rvgb3s.gif

just 1 minute work after 1 downloaded your scorecards, which makes the presentation bit more attractive:).

Awesome work Aditya!!

Binnu has given you great help!! Hope to see that being used IMO.

This is why you get my Vote for SOTQ.

Improvement is what i thought of!!!

Great!! No grammatical errors nothing awesome!! :hpraise:hpraise
