The captain has to say transition is a long way away. Remember, he too, is up for replacement, should he not showcase his form soon.Rahane & Pujara are going no where after Kohli said that the transition is a long way away. Complain, crib, accept, whatever you consider for yourself... These 2 are not going anywhere yet!
I don't know what he has done but we definitely need him to deliver. Kohli at peak is one of the most feared batsman in the world. I feel he definitely has something in the bank so as Pujara. I don't understand the issue of Rahane though. The captain has to say transition is a long way away. Remember, he too, is up for replacement, should he not showcase his form soon.
I do not think Kohli is up for replacement. Anyone thinking about that is also insane. Like he said he is enjoying that people expect so much from him as he himself has set that standard. Pujara played a nice little knock even though that dint convert to anything big. Rahane definitely will be the one sitting out in the home tests against Sri Lanka as there are people vying for his spot. Most likely Mayank out when Sharma returns. The captain has to say transition is a long way away. Remember, he too, is up for replacement, should he not showcase his form soon.

I think the transition that will happen would be Rahane out for home series first. Pujara might continue playing in the home test and the 1 away test in England later this year. If he keeps failing that might be it and we will see a new number 3 for home Australian series.Even if he has set high standards, it doesn't take away the fact that VK himself hasnt been among the runs. Continued failures will mean the swords will be out for VK as well. In all honesty, India has a good bench strength, which can be tried out over the course of the coming matches.
