No they dont need to keep Sammy & they weren't lacking a leader & Sammy does not role other than keep better players out & continuously mess up the balance of the WI team, especially in tests.
Gayle was doing a solid job as skipper between 07-10. Lets not forget he was the one in charge when England lost a test series in the Caribbean in 09. While Gayle personal average was going up almost 10 points during his stint as skipper, before corrupt politics forced him out of the role.
Gayle wasnt Doing any Great as a Test Captain.
I am not Backing Sammy, Sammy for me is not really a High Class player but give his Best in the game. and he is a good Captain. he communicate with his players on the Field, until Chris who just stand in the slip and dont really talk to his Bowlers much.
But if i had to Choose a West Indies Captain i would Choose Sarwan, for me he would be a better West Indies Captain, than Gayle or Sammy. plus Sammy wouldnt be in my Test Squad. but what ever team is out there, i would like to see them perform and To be honest We cant Hit on this team like that at least they are not getting Demolish like 5-0, or 3-0 etc, like that Reifer West Indies Team.
Gayle Test Captaincy Team Performance (NOTE: Gayle had all the top player Batsmen and Bowlers)
