India's tour of West Indies June 2011

In that short stay, Mukund showed so much promise. It was his first ever test innings, so the guy should hopefully be cut some slack. But Vijay should not be cut the slack. He is increasingly looking entirely out of depth when playing in challenging conditions. Hopefully by the end of this series, Mukund should push Vijay out of the 3rd and backup test opener spot (if all goes well).

Dhoni has taken a gamble by batting first, but I think its to make sure India have a chance of bowling last on this wicket. Hope Dravid, Kohli, Raina and Dhoni can take India to a decent total (250-300 would be par on this wicket batting first).

India 69 for 4 at lunch and this was expected. We always struggle in the first test against the home side still I see us posting a minimum of 250 runs

Dhoni's decision will now be debated upon. At this point, one feels a guy like Badri would be more re-assuring. With Raina, its either blockbuster or flopbuster.

I was going to say that, I have high hopes on Dhoni and Dravid partnership but no hopes on Raina. If he does good then its good for India this match but if he does not then its going to be hell lot difficult for India but saying that I have more hopes on Harbhajan and Praveen :p

So, what you're saying is that if he plays well, it's good for India, and if he doesn't, it's bad for India. :p

WHENEVER India win the toss and bat first in the first game of a series, especially away from home, this happens. So this is hardly surprising with our second XI team. Mukund did not look good, in his brief stay. He had at least 5 attempts at an off drive and missed 3 and inside edged two, one of which lead to his dismissal. His offside play looks poor. Vijay - lazy strokeplay as usual. If India get to 250, they should be okay.

Amit Mishra's gonna eat up these WIndies batsmen. You heard it here first !

No they dont need to keep Sammy & they weren't lacking a leader & Sammy does not role other than keep better players out & continuously mess up the balance of the WI team, especially in tests.

Gayle was doing a solid job as skipper between 07-10. Lets not forget he was the one in charge when England lost a test series in the Caribbean in 09. While Gayle personal average was going up almost 10 points during his stint as skipper, before corrupt politics forced him out of the role.

Gayle wasnt Doing any Great as a Test Captain.
I am not Backing Sammy, Sammy for me is not really a High Class player but give his Best in the game. and he is a good Captain. he communicate with his players on the Field, until Chris who just stand in the slip and dont really talk to his Bowlers much.
But if i had to Choose a West Indies Captain i would Choose Sarwan, for me he would be a better West Indies Captain, than Gayle or Sammy. plus Sammy wouldnt be in my Test Squad. but what ever team is out there, i would like to see them perform and To be honest We cant Hit on this team like that at least they are not getting Demolish like 5-0, or 3-0 etc, like that Reifer West Indies Team.

This test is surely going to be interesting. India 6 down for 85 is awesome Bishoo bowling. Its not that its turning its he is bowling superbly

****!!!

Why do we get out like this in the first overseas test???

All the millions these ******s make....they shud prepare better for an OverSeas Test.

Why depend on the BCCI? If you really want to acclimatize, just take a plane to the West Indies and play in a few good club games.

64 runs in 8 overs this session, gotta love Harbhajan. These shots are authentic, and beautiful, he's really hammered anything loose.

If people see few post above I said, its going to be Harbhajan and Praveen scoring quickly and helping India.

I told you I have more respect on Harbhajan's batting than that of Raina's. Raina is doing decently well out there (I still am not confident of his test batting capabilities). If Harbhajan can take us to 250, it would be an awesome comeback. He is batting like its a T20 match (which actually is helping us because after such a poor start, a T20 type innings has shaken the opposition up).
