2nd Over - Bowled by Martin:

Matt Prior goes for a quick run to keep the runs flowing but he is brillianty ran out by Ross Taylor. Prior has to go! Kevin Pietersen, England's danger man is forced to the crease far earlier than expected.
3rd Over - Bowled by Bond:
0,0,W,1,2,0
13/2
This time Alastair Cook has to go because of frustration. He goes for a big shot down the ground and it goes straight up and is caught at mid on in the circle. England have lost both of their openers. Ian Bell now comes to the crease!
4th Over - Bowled by Martin:
W,0,0,0,W,2
15/4
Things go from bad to even worse because England lose two more wickets in this over and everything seems to be going up in smoke in front of them on what looks like a good batting pitch. Ian Bell is caught at long on going for an ambitious shot too early in his innings.
Paul Collingwood just arrives at the crease before having to take a long walk back after chipping a cover drive to the man at cover point. Collingwood cannot believe it as he sees his own team capitulating in front of his own eyes.
5th Over - Bowled by Bond:
0,3,2,0,0,0
20/4
6th Over - Bowled by Martin:
6,2,2,2,2+NB,0,0
35/4
Kevin Pietersen has his say and hits a maximum and plays Martin with ease for the remainder of the over. The maximum came over the vacant mid wicket area and the crowd don't like it.
7th Over - Bowled by Bond:
2,0,0+NB,6,0,2+NB,4,0
51/4
Pietersen stands and admires this time at the non strikers end as Owais Shah shows his class by scoring 16 runs off the over including a maximum over square leg and a great four in the same area. Shah and Pietersen are starting to put England in a good position.
8th Over - Bowled by Martin:
6,6,2,2,1,6
74/4
Pietersen outdoes Shah again and it is almost as if there is competition between the two in the middle. KP hits two sixes but Shah hits one as well in the over. Pietersen's come over the leg side mid wicket region and straight down the ground while Shah's chips it to his favourite square leg area once more.
9th Over - Bowled by Franklin:
1,2,0,2,0,2
81/4
10th Over - Bowled by Vettori:
0+WD,0,2,0,1,0,0
85/4
11th Over - Bowled by Franklin:
2,1,0,6,1,0
95/4
Shah plays his signature boundary shot over square leg for anothe rmaximum. Shah is almost outshining Pietersen and this partnership has been crucial for England!
12th Over - Bowled by Vettori:
0,0,1,0,0+WD,0,6
103/4
Pietersen brings up his half century with another fine six this time straight down the ground and almost out the ground. Pietersen is such a weapon for England!
13th Over - Bowled by Franklin:
1,1,1,0+WD,1,W,2
110/5
James Franklin makes the breakthrough for New Zealand ending a brilliant partnership between KP and Shah. The man to go is Owais Shah after being caught on the square leg boundary after going for one too many big shots. Despite Shah going England are in a good position especially as Flintoff is on his way to the middle.
14th Over - Bowled by Vettori:
0,0,0,0,0,0
110/5
15th Over - Bowled by Franklin:
2,2,2,1,0,2
119/5
16th Over - Bowled by Vettori:
0,0,4,0,0,W
123/6
Andrew Flintoff plays a delightful sweep shot for a boundary but just three balls later he tries to hit the ball out of the ground and skies it for an easy catch for Shane Bond and a dangerous batsman gone for England. Suddenly things are looking a bit worse for the English.
17th Over - Bowled by Styris:
2,6,6,2,6,0
145/6
Kevin Pietersen accelerates the total for England sending Styris around the park with three sixes in the over! He hits one over mid wicket, one over the covers and one straight down the ground. The crowd are loving it even though they are supporting the Kiwis.
18th Over - Bowled by Oram:
0,W,0,W,1,W
146/9
This is a disastrous over for England. Pietersen goes after going for a quick single to get back on strike and the New Zealanders are ecstatic.
Broad comes to the crease and second ball he is caught in the covers after driving uppish. The Kiwis are even more ecstatic and the fans are loving every ball at the moment.
Sidebottom arrives but then after he gets off the mark with a single Dimi Mascarenhas goes big but not big enough as he is caught brilliantly on the square leg boundary! England lose three wickets in the over and are on the brink!
19th Over - Bowled by Styris:
0,W
146/10
Sidebottom doesn't give much resisitance and edges behind to McCullum to leave England disappointed because they looked on course for a lot more with Pietersen and Shah at the crease however they aren't too disappointed because they had a dreadful start to the innings!
The only England batsmen that performed anywhere near to their potential were Kevin Pietersen and Owais Shah. This will not sit well with the fans and don't forget they pick the team.
As for the New Zealand bowlers they all chipped in and got wickets but the pick of the bowlers was Vettori the captain who was economical as well as getting the important wicket of Andrew Flintoff.
Kevin Pietersen was the star of the show for England and here is his wagon wheel. His boundaries were all maximum and it seems that KP was designed for Twent20 cricker. Well New Zealand must now chase down 147 to win at that means they require 7.5 runs an over. It won't be easy but they could reach the total. Can they do it join us after the break to find out!
