ICC, today have announced an additional part in Cricket which is set to spread cricket to countries its not famous in. They have announced a World Cup played on beaches, Beach Cricket World Cup. 20 Countries including all 8 full members, few associates and few affiliates have decided to take part in this inaugural part of this cup.

What is already seem to be hectic for international players, this tournament will prove some light fun and reduce work load. ICC have planned to give this tournament a window if it is successful for the first few editions. It plans on removing Champion Leagues rights in ICC Calender and giving Beach Cricket a go.

I'm tipping the Windies to dominate this comp. Gayle, Shiv, Bravo, Bravo, Pollard is a legendary lineup. Canada will be the surprise packet with Jimmy Hansra leading the tournament for runs scored.

Great idea, what game are you using?

Opening Ceremony

ICC, like all other tournaments, had a small opening ceremony kind of thing before the start of this new edition World Cup to Cricket. The sport was about to write history with first time ICC giving a nod for this cup and making it official. 20 teams are going to participate in this cup which has its main purpose of spreading cricket to nations it is not popular in.

Countries like Nepal,Denmark,UAE,etc have nothing to lose in this tournament but what they could earn is some prestige & they could well meet the stars of cricket which they could just dream meeting. Leaving Indian team, all other teams have big names in their squad. From Chris Gayle to Graeme Smith, from Brendon McCullum to Brett Lee all have been drafted into the squad by their respective boards.

Indian team dont have their stars playing this World Cup but their squad does not look bad. The Pathan brothers and Bhajji are well and truely famous all around. There were plenty of Indian and Pakistani supporters as expected and this tournament is surely going to grab everyone's attention.

The beauty of this tournament is that no team is favorites, any team can win and any team can become the champions. Obviously the full members have the experience in them but this tournament does not come or begin with any one as favorites. If we talk on Paper, West Indies & South Africa look strong enough with all big names participating, good bowling, power hitting and some great fielders.

Beaches were the matches will be played are given below. From England to West Indies to Australia this tournament is surely going to grab everyone's attention.

ICC Beach Cricket World Cup
Match 1 - Scotland vs UAE from Blackpool
Attendance: 638

Welcome everyone to witness history being written in the field of cricket. Its the Match 1 between Scotland & United Arab Emirates.

This edition of cricket was decided weeks ago and here we are in this part of England playing our first match. Both teams have been part of ICC's Associates with UAE part of ICC since 1990. Scotland was part of ICC under different since 1908 but it went major changes including name changes in 2001. These 2 teams have plenty to play for as Scotland who are the heavy weights against UAE would like to move to Round 2 and on the other side UAE would love to cause an early upset and move to Round 2. Whoever wins, its not going to be easy facing the might Australians in Round 2.

Toss time and we move down for the toss

- Hello people round the beach. Welcome to the new edition world cup of ICC the Beach Cricket. I have 2 captains with me GD Drummond the Scottish Captain & Abdul Rehmen captain from UAE. GD Drummond to call.

1pvtid.jpg
- Yes Ravi bhai, We Bat first. Exciting tournament for us, opportunity for our to team to do well. Inshallah we will perform well.

2mnq2v6.jpg
- So news from the center is UAE have won the Toss & Elected to Bat First

So UAE have won the toss and elected to bat first. Here are the team sheet for both the side.

Lineups

UAE
Abdul Rehman
Arshad Ali
Amjad Ali
Wasim Bari
Shoaib Sarwar

Scotland
DF Watts
KJ Coetzer
CS MacLeod
GD Drummond
S Sharif

UAE Innings

Code:
Arshad Ali c Watts b Drummond 30 (13)
Amjad Ali run out (Sharif) 41 (31)
Wasim Bari not out 65 (36)
Shoaib Sarwar DNB
Abdul Rehman DNB

Total (For 2 Wickets, 80 Balls) 136
Strike Rate: 170

S Sharif 0/55 off 32 balls
GD Drummond 1/49 off 32 balls
CS Macleod 0/32 off 16 balls

Scotland bowlers have let their reputations down. Although the score to chase is just 137 in 80 deliveries but Sharif & Macleood bowled some horrible deliveries. But all said they can be forgiven seeing this is the first time they are playing international level Beach Cricket.

On the other side Wasim Bari the pinch hitter who on the last moment was sent up the order played magnificently and helped UAE bowlers to defend some score which looked unlikely when Amjad Ali was playing. Amjad could not up the scoring rate, although he score 41 odd runs but he took 31 deliveries. Arshad gave a fantastic start to UAE by scoring 30 runs of just 13 deliveries. Wasim Bari's late flourish have given UAE some hopes. Surprised the captain did not come out and bat at the end of 2nd wicket.

Will Scotland chase? We will see after this short break!!

Scotland Innings

Code:
DF Watts c Bari b Rehman 92 (42)
KJ Coetzer run out (Bari) 13 (7)
CS Macleod not out 32 (10)

Total (For 2 Wickets, 59 Balls) 137
Strike Rate: 232

Shoaib Sarwar 0/81 off 32 balls
Abdul Rehman 1/46 off 24 balls
Wasim Bari 0/10 off 3 balls

What a victory!! Watts was absolutely brilliant and just missed out on very first century of this format of this cup. 137 was a decent target but what Scotland did was never gave UAE chance to come back into the match. Shoiab Sarwar was smashed all round the park by DF Watts. Although one percent chance was there for UAE to pounce back when Coetzer slowly played for his 13 runs and Scotland lost 2 wickets in 8 deliveries, but CS Macleod was brilliant. He made sure by his 10 ball 32 runs that Scotland lived up to its heavy wieght reputation and qualify for Second Round where now they will be against Australia.

Thanks for Joining see you tomorrow for low profile teams match Nepal VS Namibia. Cya!!
