Introduction, Features and Updates

January 6 2010, Update 2
Implemented the "Load Previous Lineup" feature in the match simulation dialog. This will allow you to load a lineup from a date-wise previous match (any match that has taken place before the match you're trying to play). It will also check to make sure that players still exist in the teams, although I don't suppose this will be a huge deal.

I'll implement the Save Scorecard from the View Scorecard page tomorrow and hopefully release 0.1.3 on Friday.

Created an online hosted bugtracker. Please use the following steps when logging a bug:

1. Go to sohummm.unfuddle.com
2. Login with Username pccsbugs and Password planetcricket
3. Click on the Tickets link at the top of the page.
4. Click on the New Ticket link
5. Enter the details of the bug.
6. Select "Bug" as the Type
7. Select the latest released version of PCCS as the Version
8. Click Create Ticket

You can make feature requests in this way, as well. I will be monitoring the tickets page every few days to get an idea of what bugs have been reported/features are requested and will modify the details appropriately.

The release of 0.1.4 is going to be pushed back another week, or possibly Sunday, January 24 if you guys are lucky. I don't have a lot of time going around at the moment.

I just tweaked the bowler selection algorithm a bit so that specialist bowlers are sorted slightly higher. Hopefully this will fix the issue where specialists weren't getting overs. With these tweaks, if anyone you don't want to bowl is set to 0, you should bowl with just specialists unless the bowling is distributed in such a way that an extra bowler is required.

Also fixed a couple of UI bugs. I will try to get the ball-by-ball saving done this week and at that point I will release 0.1.4 and push the remaining features to 0.1.5.

Wrote a method that will take ball-by-ball updates and save them to a text file with vB code. Copying and pasting the text file will result in the following:

PCCS 0.1.4 has been released! There are not that many updates but I have tweaked the bowling selection algorithm a bit. Keep in mind that this will be modified completely after end of dev for the Twenty20 engine but as of yet I'm just tweaking it to make sure it works okay.

The other big change is the ability to save the ball-by-ball updates to a text file formatted with vB code. Also the player name spacing bug has been sorted, hopefully.

In light of the best month of the year beginning, I've made a few updates. I'm trying to improve the probabilities associated with special skills right now. There was a bug that caused anyone with the SpinSpecialist trait to have their probabilities screwed up--short term fix is to disable that special skill in your PCCSDB files.

Also working on adjusting the probability for sheet anchors/middle order aggressors. Please keep in mind that if you build a player with a lot of special skills, they're likely to overlap each other and confuse a player!

I wanted to have 0.1.5 out on the 19th but my laptop has been giving me some problems. Specifically, the fan seems to have gotten out of its base and is not really doing anything but causing a lot of sound and vibration. I'm going to go get it checked out at Best Buy this week but till then dev is essentially frozen.

I have released a test version of PCCS 0.1.5. This should fix the line-ups causing PCCS to crash issue. It also introduces a new "Load Previous Lineup" dialog that allows you to select any one of your previous lineups.

Released the first official version of PCCS 1.0.0. This is essentially a 90% complete Twenty20 engine, with adjustments upcoming to tweak probabilities. The bowling selection algorithm still hasn't been rewritten.
