It is here - finally - alpha 0.1 released!!!!

hi JK & LM hats of to u guys for the great work,
downloaded and have been testing it for about an hour ,Haven't come across any bug,or slowness work like a charm,
but if i press 'j',while playing blue lines appeared around the batsmen and when i press it again it disappeared, weirdly that happened only once ,have been trying to get that again but cant,

apart from that the alpha shows good promise,the animations are fluid and seeing a proper straight drive in a cric game after BLC 99,this even beats that,

the out field ball pacing requires some work,the ball seems to glide too freely,

apart from that great & stable work for a alpha 0.1,

also guys are u using unity 3D engine,if so i can offer some assistance,as i have worked with it to some extent,

KUDOS to u guys,keep up the good work!

the works fine but doing batting and bowling at same time is little tricky

13 minutes left on the download (Abhas' mirror)

Wow, it looks amazing guys, i was watching Matt's video just a minute ago while browsing through the thread, i kept pausing it every second to get still pictures of it, and it looks fantastic when frozen. At one point, i had the bowler just before he landed, both feet off the ground and it looks very realistic. Great work guys.

romba sandhosham. :D

its actually the key "L" for the lines..shows the direction the previous strokes...to display the variety in outcome of each shot. :)

also, i would suggest all the players to play around with the swing / seam / spin etc.....one of the main features of our physics engine.

Hey JK,I don't know whether this is a bug or something else but whenever I bowl and my batsman misses it(mostly :p),and then when I press space bar,then once again the bowler animates and moves forward.I almost took the bowler beside the batsman by doing this(hehe,wanted to make them both clash :p).

is this a bug?

Yep. I faced the same thing too! Apart from that, looks solid. Will post detailed impressions later.

Firstly I would like to thank you all for bringing TAOC back to life. I know how terrible times you had to face in the past years, and sorting out everything would have taken a lot of effort.

Downloaded the alpha and played it for almost 45 minutes, must admit that the game physics are awesome. Never experienced such realistic animations in a cricket game. I also loved the idea of the free cam.

Regarding the bugs, I didn't face any except the one which Nabeel mentioned. The game is very addictive but at times it does becomes a bit difficult to bat and bowl at the same time, especially when a spin bowler is selected.

Overall, the game is terrific for the alpha release, you don't really expect such good stuff in the alpha version. Hats off to you guys, brilliant.

I can easily rate it 8/10 (not considering the graphics for now). :thumbs

This looks way better than that CR. Animations are fluid. GFX aren't too bad. I was expecting something like CR. :p

Thanks Yudi. Really Appreciate it. :)

yes, batting is tough especially with the spinners. since you need to control both.....
you have less time to adjust....
but cant have it any other way until we develop the AI.

the animations were done by me...all by hand...no motion capture or anything. its bloody tough getting them right. cricketing nightmare!
but when you achieve it, you reach cloud nine!

in short,

Physics = Legend_Master

Animations = Myself.

both are extremely vital for a realistic and addictive gameplay....which is what we are in the process of achieving.

Look at the stump cartwheel animation...It is really stunning.:eek:
Though it is achieved only by hitting the ball in the middle stump...

Really great work on anims JK...This game will surely beat all the commercial games present till now....:clap
