Inter Milan have crucially won their game in hand against Fiorentina. However, they are 5 points behind AC Milan and 2 points behind Napoli.

Claudio Ranieri is surely walking on an extremely thin thread now after seeing his side incredibly, lead 3-0 and gone on to lose 4-3!

After a fantastic first season, it just didn't work this season. It was inevitable that he'd go.

Without Lavezzi, Napoli really do lack that spark. It'll be very tough vs Milan without him. Just about beat Catania 1-0, Cavani missed a pen! And Catania should've had a pen.

Milan also scrape through 2-1. Title race is really hotting up.

He was a deadman walking. No doubt the new owners would have appointed their own manager anyway.

It's a shame because let's not forget last season where he took over Roma, who'd started the season with two defeats and managed to claw back a 14-point gap between themselves and Inter, coming agonisingly close to winning Serie A.

I'll always remember the Rome Derby against Lazio where he showed great testicular fortitude to take off Totti and De Rossi at half-time and subsequently managed to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win.

It will be interesting to see who they appoint as their manager. There have been reports in the past stating that they want Ancelotti. He in return also said that he wants to manage Roma on day too. So, yeah.

Result earlier this season did not help things either as I remember there were a couple of matches where Roma were leading 2-0 but always ended up drawing 2-2 in games when they should have won.

Italian press is saying Montella might take over in the short-term.

If they do hire someone on a short team basis, then the speculation linking Ancelotti to Roma would surely intensify further.

I can see Ancelotti being sacked in the summer and Roma appointing him then. If they have the new owners and some money to spend by then, they could do quite well next season.

I don't think he really deserves it. Chelsea have been poor but it's not all down to him and sacking a double-winning manager a season later seems strange. But this is Abramovich we're talking about.

Although going into a season with such a wafer-thin squad was always going to bite him in the backside at some point. Barca have been getting away with it for the past few seasons but there's no League Cup in Spain and their fitness regime is probably the best in the world.

These are the days i despise the Romans . Not the first time they are screwing up a handsome lead :facepalm
