Karnataka announces their squad to South Australia.

Karnataka State Cricket Association chief selector, Syed Kirmani, along with team coach Anil Kumble, announced their 14 man squad to South Australia. Rahul Dravid, who would be busy in national duties upto 7th of August, will not feature in Karnataka's tour of South Australia. Reports say that Rahul Dravid will feature only if South Australia agrees with Karnataka for the swap of the OD and T20 series with FC match. Rahul Dravid showed his interest to play for his domestic side by saying ," It'd be better if SACA officials looks into matter deeply so that I can enjoy bit of domestic cricket".

Syed Kirmani, the chairman of selectors of KSCA clearly said that Rahul will be a 15th person in squad, if SACA change the schedule. He added that the tour would be a crucial one for players like Manish Pandey, Vinay Kumar and Abhimanyu Mithun. "Players like Bharat Chipli and Balachandra Akhil can get lots of experience by playing this tour. This will be a crucial one for the players who are giving tight competition to Indian National players like R Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun and Manish Pandey, especially for Manish Pandey because he has not yet represented India", Syed Kirmani said.

Sunil Joshi, the 39 year old was included in the squad as he passed his fitness test. Abhimanyu Mithun and R Vinay Kumar were the two persons on whom Karnataka was to depend. Sreenath Aravind was also a raw pacer, but he failed to get the ball on right spots, miserably failed in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which was held in early march. Stuart Binny and Balachandra Akhil can help the bowlers by having few spells which can rest few front line bowlers.

Batting looks perfect with the likes of Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, Bharat Chipli, Muralidharan Gautam. Ganesh Satish and KB Pawan came into light in the previous season. So they were the people who were going to have a crucial test for making their selection clear for the upcoming Indian Domestic Season. In addition to this, if Rahul Dravid gets a chance to play, the batting of Karnataka will be a huge nightmare for South Australia Redbacks' bowlers.

South Australia Cricket Association Announce their Squad and Make Few Changes to the Schedule.

South Australia Cricket Association announced the squad for their matches Karnataka and tweaked the schedule a bit in favor of Karnataka. According to the reports, John Bannon said ,"The West End One Day series has been increased by one match by canceling the T20 match. It will start on 5th of August with the rest two games scheduled on 8th August and 11th August. The only First Class match will start on 13th of August. All the spectators will be allowed for free on The Hill."

"We've selected some T20 specialists in the squad (both for OD and FC) so that they'll get some experience in those formats. Shaun Tait will play for South Australia Redbacks as he has not been selected by Cricket Australia."

With addition of Shaun Tait, the bowling looks okay as bowlers like Mark Cleary, Dan Cullen, Haberfield and Putland don't have any international experience. Daniel Christian has capacity to handle the bowling a bit.

Batting looks cool with the likes of Callum ferguson, Graham Manou & Mark Cosgrove. Of course, many of them are T20 players, they can do well in OD format. The only question which many have is how well do they perform in FC match.

Schedule

West End One Day Cup:

1st OD Match:
5th August:
South Australia Redbacks VS Karnataka at Adelaide Oval.

2nd OD Match:
8th August:
South Australia Redbacks VS Karnataka at Adelaide Oval.

3rd OD Match:
11th August:
South Australia Redbacks VS Karnataka at Adelaide Oval.

Only FC Match:
13th August-16th August:
South Australia Redbacks VS Karnataka at Adelaide Oval.
