I've been to a quiz show (4 years ago, for DD National) and I know how it goes.

The reactions were scripted there. If the contestant or the host didn't give the appropriate reactions, it was nothing but a retake until they did it right.

I know that very well. Since I was seven, I have been in all this. Living in Mumbai couldn't keep me away from it.

I still remember that in the show "Khul Ja Sim Sim" when my mom won a car, she was asked to be joyous in front of the cameras. We already owned two cars and there was no real excitement for us, but still, the show demanded for it. Then my mom has been a part of 11 shows out of which she won 10, so I know it very well how it goes.

I myself was a part of a show which wasn't tele-casted on national TV but had to be shown to various schools. Even there they asked me to be joyous on winning the prizes.

So, the shows aren't fake (or scripted) at all and I am 100% sure about it.

My comment applies only to game/quiz shows and not crap dramas like Swayamwar, Rakhi ka Insaaf, etc.

Just clarified from my mom. She participated in 14 game shows, out which 11 were related to music (Antakshri type of shows).

I won't like to name it, but out of the 14, only one was fixed and that too the first round, consisting of two songs so that each team at least gets off the mark. The first round songs were given to all the teams.

Except that one show, all were pretty clean.

I am pretty sure a show as big as KBC won't do any cheap moves for TRPs/publicity.

Finally we have a Crorepati who after giving the correct answer for the 1 Crore question also took the money home. She is the first female to be a Crorepati via the show, or shall we say Crorepatni, that's what Big B said.

Her name is Rahat Taslim. The place from where she comes, her financial status and the background make me feel as if the "Slumdog Millionaire" story just became a reality.
