Australia vs Sri Lanka - 20/20 1st Final at Melbourne
Australia
1. Brad Hodge
2. Phil Jaques
3. Ricky Ponting
4. Michael Hussey
5. Michael Clarke
6. Brad Haddin
7. S. Watson
8. B. Hogg
9. B. Hilfenhaus
10. S. Clark
11. B. Lee
Australia have made no change to their line-up this week, with their match with South Africa last week. I think this will be a good idea, as Australia have won the last 3 matches, and with the inclusion of Brad Hodge last week, it looks a much more dominant side then it did at the start of the series.
The two opening batsmen have made some runs, only with Hodge coming in last week, Phil Jaques has been the surprise packet for Australia picking up a load of runs. Then Ponting who has had a poor summer, and Hussey and Clarke who made that good partnership last week.
Their bowling attack is solid with Hilfenhaus and Lee standing up in the attack, but it has been the Aussie spinners that have taken the wickets this time around, Hogg, Hodge, Clarke and White are all topping the Australian wickets. Hogg leading the series
Sri Lanka
1. L. Dharmaratne
2. S. Jayasiruiya
3. M. Jayawardne
4. T. Dilshan
5. C. Kapugedera
6. C. Vaas
7. P. Jayawardne
8. F. Maharoof
9. I. Armersinghe
10. M. Muralitharan
11. L. Malinga
A very well built team. They will have a strong fight on their hands. They have only made the one change since they faced the Aussies last and that is with I. Armersinghe coming into the line-up. They have a solid middle order, their 2 opening batsmen will need to fire if they are going to post a big total. Australia have always found a way to knock over the first wicket within 2-3 overs in this series, so Sri Lanka don't need that to happen today.
