The long Walk Back
HS: Welcome to "The Long Walk Back" with me, Harsha Bhogle, Sunil Gavaskar
and Jim Maxwell. We are here to talk about the match situation so far. Sunil, how well do you think the England team batted?
SG: Well Harsha, they batted well if you look at the overall scoreline, but really they should of made more and used all of their overs. Joyce, Loye and Flintoff were the stand out men, but nobody else really contributed apart from the massive extra collumn from the Australians, which is unusual to see.
HB: And Jim do you think the Aussie's bowled well? Or did they not make use of their position at the mid point of the innings?
JM: I think they bowled reasonably well, apart from the amount of extra's. Hogg in particular bowled superb and I was very suprised to see him only bowl 6 overs! The top 3 strike bowlers didn't take a wicket between them and if it wasn't for 2 collapses by England they would have been in deep trouble chasing a possible 350+ score.
HB: Ok thanks for the moment guys. Now we have Javagal Srinath pitch side with Ed Joyce.

JS: Thankyou Harsha. Now here with me is Ed Joyce. Ed, congrats on your marvelous century earlier, how did it feel to be out there making a 2nd ODI century against the Aussies?
EJ: Cheers Javagal. It felt fantastic to be getting those runs out there today in the sun. I felt in great nick and was timing the ball well. The pitch is pretty flat and I was able to make use of it.
JS: And do you think you have posted a competitive score or could you have got more?
EJ: Well I think a bit of both there. We have posted a very competitive score, any score of over 300 is competitive. But we definatley could have made more. We were in a strong position but two collapses stopped us from posting a total of 350+. But we are very happy with our position at the moment.
JS: Thanks Ed, and good luck for the rest of the match.
EJ: Thanks
JA: Back to you in the studio...

HB: We shall take a short break, but when we get back we shall rview the stand out performances so far...
