The highest in terms of runs is the 283-run rout of the Post-War XI by the Professional XI in the Season VIII final.

On statistics alone, this isn't perhaps the best time to be a PlanetCricket supporter for Karachi also possess in their ranks WG Grace and Arthur Morris, who along with Frank Worrell and Ray Lindwall are the only four men in LAB history to win every single final they've ever appeared in i.e 2 out of 2.
- At the other end of the spectrum PlanetCricket possess Charlie Turner, who along with Ricky Ponting, Alec Bedser and KS Ranjitsinhji are the only players to have lost every final they've ever appeared in i.e 2 out of 2.

I just hope this doesn't end like LAB VIII final for me. (Considering I managed the Post War XI in that)

We're going to retain the same lineup that rioted against the Dominators in the second qualifier. After having tried and tested almost everything I honestly believe that this is our best xi. WG Grace, despite you mentioning the fact that he's never been on a losing side in a LAB final will be left out of the playing xi. His performance throughout the season has been unsatisfactory. I'll give Hanif Mohammad the slight benefit because Hanif Mohammad has a slightly better strike rate, and he is our captain. Don't wanna leave out the captain for the final, what sense would that make? Arthur Morris, Ken Barrington, Don Bradman, Wally Hammond, Clyde Walcott, Richie Benaud, Float Woods and Bill Lockwood are mainstays of the team. There isn't even a thought of replacing them. Neil Harvey tho, is a risky choice IMO. I contemplated bringing Warwick Armstrong back into the team for his place and give myself an extra bowling option, but Neil Harvey's superior strike rate convinced me to not do that. Neil Harvey can, hopefully, play the role of a finisher alongside Clyde Walcott, who I know for a fact can smash the ball hard. Another thought I had was getting rid of Hugh Trumble and bringing in Herbert Dorning to strengthen the pace-attack, but I kept Hugh Trumble for two reasons. His bowling average of 27.27 from 11 scalps and him being the only off spinner in the lineup. Variety is a good thing, a legbreak bowler, an offbreak bowler, two right-arm quicks and a medium-fast bowler.

The major flaw in Hanif's strategy was ruthlessly exposed by Aubrey Faulkner, as he was forced to turn to Ken Barrington's part-time legbreaks as a result of Hammond, Benaud and Lockwood all being bowled out, Woods having just one over up his sleeve and Trumble not looking particularly threatening with the ball today. Faulkner, who was looking a tad rusty out in the middle was now looking a lot more assured thanks to a boundary and massive six off Barrington to bring the equation down to a simpler 33 off 24..

But Hanif continued to back his tactics, and this time it paid off! The big hitting Franklyn Stephenson was bounced out by a venomous delivery from Woods to which he could do little but fend straight back to the bowler. One legendary cricketer to never play for the West Indies had got the other. But crucially for PlanetCricket, this also meant Woods was bowled out after a wonderful spell of 10-0-53-3 and they would now have to contend only with the likes of Trumble and Barrington.
