Fabulous, extravagant victory this. What a match we had. Zaheer clicking just when we needed him most. Saeed, Inzy, Javed and Saleem who has been in form right through the tournament put us into the driver's seat first up. Bowlers too did well to cover up the bad performance of first innings to come over the rampant Sir Weekes. Moin, for a change was too amongst the runs but the stand out performer was Imran who has not only batted and bowled well, he led the team from the front. Not to forget the valuable contributions of Wasim and Waqar, the deadly duo of Pakistan cricket. In all, its a win that we will cherish for a long long time.

Pakistan - Team Review
+ Won the reputed title in a tournament comprising of legends
+ Bowlers were brilliant
+ Captain Imran Khan led from the front
- Azhar Mahmood, Saqlain Mushtaq and Shoaib Akhtar were inconsistent
- Stars like Mohammad Yousuf and Mushtaq Ahmad failed to impress
Imran Khan (10/10) - By far the best player in the side. Scored a mammoth 602 runs at an average of 40 and also picked 39 wickets. Was an integral part of the title victory. He was extremely consistent with both bat and ball which gave the team immense balance and more options.
Javed Miandad (10/10) - Most consistent batsman in the side scoring 886 in 9 matches with as many as 7 half centuries and 2 big ones at a phenomenal average of 59. He played a pivotal part in team's victory on more than one occasions by stitching partnership and not letting the rival bowlers get their tail up.
Inzamam ul Haq (10/10) - If Miandad was most consistent, he was the one who scored most runs for the side. The only player to cross 1000 run mark for the team, Inzy scored 1029 runs at a mammoth rate of 64.3 which comprised of 4 hundreds and equal number of half centuries. He joined hands with Javed to lead the team to good positions on a number of occasions and was the prime reason behind team's triumph.
Wasim Akram (10/10) - Wasim, the sultan of swing as he is fondly called performed brilliantly with the ball taking 40 wickets which included 2 five wicket hauls. The allrounder also added crucial runs down the order to help team to put a big score on the board. Akram scored at a better average than the likes of Moin Khan and Mohd. Yousuf who play as specialist batsmen in the team which shows the level of his performance.
Waqar Younis (9/10) - Waqar proved to be an able ally for Wasim and Imran and bowled beautifully in whatever chances he got. He too 26 wickets in just 6 games which raises the question why wasn't he picked before by the other manager.
Saeed Anwar (9/10) - While his partner kept on failing for the most part of the tournament, he was the one who dig the rival bowlers out and ensured that the team doesn't fall like a pack of cards. The left hander from Karachi was in magnificent touch and scored 844 runs at an average of 52.8. He scored 3 hundreds and 4 half centuries in the process making him one of the most consistent batsmen in the team.
Abdul Qadir (8.5/10) - When other frontline spinners Saqlain Mushtaq and Mushtaq Ahmad were not able to make their mark, Qadir bowled with great expertise claiming 34 wickets in the series making him the 3rd highest wicket taker for the country.
Zaheer Abbas (7/10) - Overall a good show. Had some good scores under the belt but failed to make it big. That said, his swashbuckling century in the final remained the standout feature.
Saleem Malik (6/10) - Replacing a star like Yousuf in the team and batting at a crucial #3 position wasn't an easy job. He batted decently for the most chances he got and solved the problem of specialist #3 batsman upto a certain extent.
Azhar Mahmood (5/10) - Was pretty okayish both with bat and ball. Nothing bad, nothing great from him either.
Shoaib Akhtar(5/10) - Atrocious with ball. Worst of the pace bowling unit. Bowled economically and kept pressure but failed to pick up wickets and let the grip on the game slip away a few times.
Saqlain Mushtaq (5/10) - Very inconsistent. Good in flashes but disappointment as a whole.
Mohammad Yousuf (3/10) - Barring a half century, he was the biggest dud of the series. A lot was expected from Yousuf for the class player he is but he failed live up to his reputation.
Moin Khan (3/10) - He struggled to score runs right through the tournament which proved costly for the team in close matches like the one against England in the last league match where his batting could have proved to be game changer but it was not to be.
Mushtaq Ahmad (2/10) - Picked up as a main spinner, he did nothing better than leaking away runs. A poor average of 90 shows how bad he was.
Others - Thanks for being by the side cheering from the pavilion and motivating the team.
Pakistan (9/10) - Struggled in the first half of the tournament but then we got our act together, got the right combination going which worked in favor of us, the standout performance being us getting the triumph over the mighty England. Despite being the winners, there are immense room for improvement and there will be quite a few changes for the next season of the tournament while we try to make the side much more stronger than it currently is.
Varun (10/10) - Marvelous league management, made it interesting. He made managing the team, a fun with his excellent presentation and frequent updates. Accurate ratings were the icing on the cake. I wish I could rate more than 100% for your effort.

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 18 member squad for the upcoming season of Legends at Battle tournament. Few changes, as expected are made in squad from the one which won the tournament last season.
The changes are as follows:
* Selection of the players is subject to last minute changes in the squad before the start of the season.

After the end of a successful inaugral season,its time for the distribution of a few awards.
BEST BATSMAN
The Best Batsman Award goes to Len Hutton of England.He played 8 matches batting 16 times and piled up a mountain of runs scoring 1358 runs at a tremendous average of 97.He hit 5 centuries and 7 half-centuries and scored at a rate of 75 runs per 100 balls.
BEST BOWLER
The Best Bowler award goes to Vernon Philander of South Africa.Many may have thought that Philander,a rookie in Test cricket wasn't fit to play amongst legends but he proved everyone wrong.In 7 matches he took a whopping 39 wickets at a fantastic bowling average of 21.10 with 3 five-fers playing against very strong teams.His bowling strike-rate was also at a very impressive 41.3 deliveries per wicket.
BEST ALL-ROUNDER
The Best All-Rounder award goes to Ian Botham of England.In 8 matches he took 33 wickets at 27.36 apiece and scored 782 runs in 14 innings at an amazing average of 78.20 runs per innings with 4 centuries and 2 half-centuries.His strike-rate was also a healthy 65 runs per 100 balls.
BEST WICKET-KEEPER BATSMAN
The Best Wicket-Keeper Batsman award goes to AB de Villiers of South Africa.In 7 matches he made 16 dismissals(16ct/0st) and was the leading run-scorer for his team with 747 runs to his name at an average of 67.91 with 3 centuries and 3 half centuries.His strike-rate of 74 runs per 100 balls was also very aggressive for Test matches.
