@fenil: the fact is is that the hell best team of the seson got fired out of the race of the finalby just the one losss! That's why I am suggesting or say demanding play offs from next seson. Its not about my team or your team. Its about the team which deserved. Tell if you don't agree.

Man of the match: Lance Gibbs
Lance Gibbs,Brian Lara,the West Indies middle order,their fast bowlers and some excellent catching by George Headley played key roles in their massive 10-wicket victory over Australia which made them qualify for the final where they'll face Pakistan.
West Indies who were off color in the league stage played to their potential and have now won three in a row since their manager made a small change in their lineup by including Weekes and Garner.
Australia on the other hand were impressive during the league stage but disappointed today will have to head back the same way as their Ashes rivals England and hope they can turn things around next season.

Poor show by Australians really. The pitch was poor but not unplayable which was evident from Shane Warne's score in the first innings. That ends a rather bizarre season for Aussies in which they played the same XI in all the matches.
WI on the other hand performed good and with Aussies doing all to lose the match, they didn't have to try hard for the win. That said, the final in no way will be easy for them. Pakistan has long batting (even Wasim Akram has scored 250+ in tests) and fantastic bowling, probably the best of the lot. Both teams have good batting and bowling might but WI lacks a good fast bowling allrounder like Pakistan who enjoys the services of 2 fast bowling allrounders (Wasim and Imran) who can be the difference between a win and a loss. Pakistan are in great form as well as they have beaten the teams like WI and India and showed that even the mighty England can be beaten. Also, WI lost miserably when these two sides locked horns last time around so, with the talent Pakistan posses and the form they are in, one wouldn't be surprised one bit to see Pakistan as champions!

They did deserved it but so did Pakistan who has played fantastic cricket and won against the sides like Windies, India and gave thumping almost twice in 2 games to the mighty England (considering how well we chased in last league match and almost won it). All I can say is you should have had a game against Aussies because they have been the most brittle of the semifinalists.
