Lockdown tournament (SEASON 2 - Updates in first post)

Moving right along. Batsmen who received three bids. Despite some of the top players who got one or two bids I'm still surprised some of these players only had three. At this stage we will really begin to see who the winners and losers of this section of the auction is.

First up... bids of 88 from @Short Leg Cricket and 90 from @GuyIncognito were not enough beat big spending @Dutch for the talents of
ZqZFZPI.png

Going at the same price as Virat Kohli, after bids of 89 by @sonimrajk 90 by @DalePlaysCricket , @Bigby Wolf won this round,
g8O5tns.png

He might have missed out the above, but @DalePlaysCricket beat @ahmedleo414 (90) and took his revenge on @Bigby Wolf (95) to scoop this star player for less than 100

A world cup winner... or as close as you're going to get. @mohsin7827 (106) and poor old @Short Leg Cricket (110) couldn't stop @Mouseydread adding to his already impressive batting line up.

AND here he is. The GOAT. @ahmedleo414 bid 98 and it wasn't enough, nor was the 102 from @NePtuNe Gaming but for a fraction of what @Dutch paid for Alastair Cook, @passwordistaco picked up

OK, let's keep going... (I'm going to keep tagging everyone so please let me know if that annoys the hell out of you)

BATSMEN WHO RECEIVED TWO BIDS.

@gillyboy04 made a bid of 96 but it wasn't enough and @GuyIncognito swooped for this Indian opener. Meanwhile he also outbid @sonimrajk (W$T 94) for an Australia opener.

@gillyboy04 also missed out on this World Cup Winner, he only bid 91 but it wasn't enough to beat the bid from @beechcroft

@Mouseydread has added to his West Indian contigent with some South African hitting power. Beating the bid from @passwordistaco by just W$T1.

And yes, @Chris Swift your bid was enough to beat @beechcroft who really has enough English batsman by now

Unfortunately my strategy was to bid as little over the base price as I could, so that I could afford to bid on a ridiculously stacked team. My hope was that other people would think they wouldn't have a chance to win and instead pass on bidding on my players, as was the case in the Warner and de Villiers bids that I succeeded in. It's a hit or miss strategy.[DOUBLEPOST=1586787031][/DOUBLEPOST]
Yeah but in this type of game you need an opener that can hold down one end, taking his time to get in, over after over, just leaving everything and waiting for the shine to come off the ball and.....oh wait.....
Well, old Chef is not that bad of a player to get...that was if the tournament was a test based format...

Aah well that’s not gone fantastically well. My future captain and anchor of the ship and my blaster both gone - back to the drawing board for me then haha

I've secured Finch and Rohit as my openers, plus Wade thus far as my keeper/and or batsman. Stoked.

As for the rest of the auction:

[DOUBLEPOST=1586787473][/DOUBLEPOST]Anyway, I'm off to bed, late here in Aus now. Look forward to this first thing in the morning. Night all.

I guess I got all the batsmen I bid on, but in truth I’ve already forgotten who I bid for :lol
I can go one better: even if I see the list of the players I have bid on I can't remember who they are...no one can![DOUBLEPOST=1586788423][/DOUBLEPOST]Maybe Big Ant or Planet C would like to sponsor this tournament somehow? (Being wise they probably wouldn't want to touch it with a barge pole)

Somewhat surprisingly we are at the tail end of the top end batters.

The most in demand batsman; those who received four and five bids.

FIRST UP

@ahmedleo414 88 @passwordistaco 89 @Bigby Wolf 90 but @Chris Swift blew them away with a three figure bid to get this Kiwi to wear the pink of
a7d1rFB.png

@gillyboy04 came in at 83, @Chris Swift after spending big on Roy and Taylor could not pull off another one (ooh-er) with just 88 bid and that left us with the one and only tie-breaker for batsman. 90 was bid and the rules stated first bid wins, so bad luck @DalePlaysCricket and CONGRATULATIONS @Short Leg Cricket you got one and you, most importantly get to see

SO, who was the most in demand? Well, it was another New Zealander. And he received five bids.

@NePtuNe Gaming 84
@Short Leg Cricket 88
@sonimrajk 89
@Dutch 93
but is was the beige and grey of the Blocktown Brotherhood who won the day.

Seeing congratulations Short Leg Cricket with Hetmyer almost threw me off my chair! Happier to see my kit though thank you! Sorry @DalePlaysCricket but good minds think a like ...
