Lockdown tournament (SEASON 2 - Updates in first post)

In a last minute change (because I couldn't find Sabina Park in the 5 seconds I looked) the match has been changed to Blundstone Arena. Conditions the same.

Match starts when I've made a cup of tea.

PANTHERS V GRUBS FOR A PLACE IN THE KIM JONG UN SOCIAL DISTANCING SHIELD BROUGHT TO YOU BY HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE.

We have our first finalists after an at times exciting semi final and ultimately bizarre finish.

P9 Panthers raced along to 94/1 after 10 overs before running into Kuldeep Yadav who removed Agarwal, Khawaja and Dawson for the second hat trick of the tournament. Coincidence fans; the last wicket of this hat trick was Liam Dawson who was the first man to take a hat trick. Consistent wickets from Grubs left Panthers with a slightly below par 185/8. Grubs had on three occasions chased more and they made a quick start; led by David Warner. However, Panthers kept chipping away with important wickets. But with Warner still going it looked inevitable that Grubs would have enough to chase the total. Even when Warner fell on 164/6 the Grubs were left needing 22 from 18 balls. Mohammmad Nabi hit a couple of bix sixes before getting out leaving Alex Davies and Morne Morkel just 12 balls to score 10 runs. Enter Wayne Parnell, a very skillful penultimate over that removed Morkel on the last ball kept Panthers in with a slim chance. 7 from 6, all it would take was a boundary. Dhawal Kulkarni, bowling the last over, kept it tight and kept Kuldeep Yadav on strike. Alex Davies eventually got on strike with just one ball remaining. 5 runs needed. A six to win it a four for a super over. Kulkarni came in and Davies just gently drove it to cover. PANTHERS WIN.

Bit of an anti-climax but you can't fault Panthers for pulling off a great victory to make the final. Grubs will go into the 3rd place final and Panthers will face the winners of this evening's second semi final between Fire In Babylon v San Francisco Suckers.

Congratulations @ameyp9 and commiserations to @gillyboy04

Extremely pathetic batting at the end from the boys, but it was quite an entertaining match regardless.

Kuldeep finally took wickets, a hatrick included, Warner nearly pretty much single handedly won the match off his own bat but unfortunately fell for 90 right near the end and that apparently meant that Morne and Kuldeep could just block out the final two overs and lose us the game...:noway

Anyway, well played to the Panthers. Good luck in the final! My boys will now play for 3rd/4th place which is much better than I expected. Thank you to everyone participating and involved in the tournament!

Update: The Grubs playing members have been spotted crying in the rooms after the match as they sadly missed out on the chance to play at Kim's stadium. They were looking very forward to playing under the watch of the Supreme Leader and visiting North Korea for the final, Morne and Kuldeep in particular are extremely emotional as they face being investigated for match fixing, the rest of the Grubs playing and staff group haven't been able to be reached for comment, although it was apparently said by an unnamed individual to be a very disappointing circumstance....
