Lord of the Rings Mafia - Town wins

Reversing that logic it's a very clever role claim because "a mafia wouldn't claim an obscure character".
I think there's more then enough evidence for you to be lynched.

What can I say? I'm a great big bloody tree which walks around and talks about as fast as Ben thinks!

I do reckon Colin and Spoobir are being overly agressive with trying to lynch me. End of the day, I know I got put behind the 8 ball with this character, if I was mafia, would I really claim such a weak character when there are so many more prominent ones which haven't been claimed? Nothing more to be said. If you genuinely think I am stupid enough to be a mafia and claim like this, then lynch me, all I can say is you're wasting time going after me.

This is extremely poor logic. Obviously the mafia have to claim obscure characters because this is a 20 player game which means lots of townies and a much greater chance of being counter-claimed if you choose a prominent character.

I actually think at an impressive speed considering the number of concussions I've suffered, Grades 1, 2 & 3.

I don't think it would be a good idea to lynch Maney as a 'safe bet' because it really gets us nowhere. I'd prefer to go after people we feel are likely to be mafia. I'm satisfied that Spoobir and Colin are townies. Tom... I'm not so sure of and he is the one that I think we should lynch today.

Fine, like I said lynch me. I will expect a public apology from you though :yes

We should use this to test whether hedger's double-voter claim is legit as well.

And everyone, when you lynch me off, and it is revealed that I am actually a townie, remember it was Spoobir and Colin who led this.....

Good point.

Unlynch: Whoever

Thats lynch number 5, after Spoobir, Colin, Ben and Chewie. We need 9 for majority. For the mentally challenged, we need only two more people to lynch, + Hedger.

Unless hedger is lying, and we have another double voter here...

But don't help me or feel sorry for me townies. Protect Gandalf and Aragorn and the like.

That was a nooob mistake, wasn't it? I don't just want the town to win - I want to win too! Please do protect me townies! :D

My best defence however is that I have no power role. Targeting me just loses Sauron another shot at a power role. Unless, like ARay, he wishes to compliment me for playing so well! :rolleyes

Some other musings of mine:
1. I believe there was a couple of clues (don't know what) in the Night 0 writeup.

2. Don't forget that Mark has claimed Pippin, who was caught on Night 1 by Gandalf performing the anti-town act of stealing 'from a good friend'. Btw, Mark announced he was going AWOL - does he need replacing?
FOS: Mark

3. I urge the townies to be careful where you let Colin lead you. He is constantly dropping not-so-subtle hints to manipulate the discussion, closing down one avenue and steering us down another.

I have not had time to revisit the night 2 writeup yet. I will leave my lynch on Maney until I do.

Let's just say that once I was poisoned I figured it gave me license to be more assertive than I would have dared been as an unconfirmed townie.
I would like some examples of me "closing down avenues" as I don't think that's true.

Regarding night 1 I think Gandalf caught Merry not Pippin despite the original wording of the write-up.

The writeup as it stands does not mention the fool of a Took (ie. Pippin), but nor does it say 'it wasn't the one he was expecting'. There were only two hobbits ever in Minas Tirith (prior to the epilogue that is lol) and the most mischievous one is almost certainly Pippin, who was also briefly guilty in the books of stealing Saruman's Palantir (viewing stone) from Gandalf (I think) with results that could have been disastrous.

While 'closing down avenues' was about 75% rhetorical flourish, I do have an example. It was early on (I haven't gone through the whole thread yet), when someone was reading clues into the Night 0 writeup, you discouraged them kind of dismissively.

I'll be the first to admit that, if you're anti-town, your 'cover' is so good that we're in big trouble. I just feel that we are taking too much for granted with respect to you.

Do we have any independent evidence that you were poisoned?

Lol
I dismissed the night 0 thing because Treva hadn't asked for night roles so it couldn't have been a non-lethal night 0.
Regarding being poisoned, there are plenty of clues in the write-up plus the fact that user2010 used his confirmed role to save me.

On the write-up for night 1 I think that pointed towards a bus driver. No idea why it was changed.

Just adding that you can't read too much into who was in Minas Tirith in the books/films. For the purposes of LOTR mafia we are all in Minas Tirith.

lol this is confusing and interesting. I have some points to make. Wait...

It's not that confusing is it? 2 confirmed townies challenge one unconfirmed townie and his defence is to call them both mafia...
