I want the zimmers to win, shame is their batting is too fragile and their bowling way too weak. I've never known a side pick so many keepers as specialist batsmen. How many domestic sides do they have - two?
But they do have a few jokers in the pack, Taylor seems to be a byword for destructive batsman, Taibu and Chigumbura are useful bats. While Taibu is averaging 37.67, Taylor has played just the one innings of note (40) and Chigumbura has scored just 20 runs.
Price has taken four wickets at 20.50, Lamb, Utseya and Cremer providing good support. Problem is Zimbabwe have taken just 15 wickets and the batting is way too fragile. They also took out Canada for 123 runs which accounted for eight of their 15 wickets and gave the spin attack a boost in their bowling averages/
In fairness they stuffed Canada and lost to an in-form aussie side. They were skittled by New Zealand for a modest and their bowling attack made no inroads whatsoever. So that's a sizeable win, a bog standard defeat to the aussies and one humbling by New Zealand. If they can raise their game, maybe the spinners get into a side, they could cause a surprise. Problem is they are heavily reliant on one or two key players and if they don't fire, Zimbabwe lose (badly)
They should stuff Kenya, most have so far including Canada, and if they can sneak some kind of win over Sri Lanka (unlikely) or Pakistan (you never know) then it could be still on.
