Mar 19 : Bangladesh vs South Africa

There is no room for him unless you drop morkel, who has also been decent this tournament. There isn't room for both peterson and botha either unless you drop van wyk and let ab keep and with his back that might be a risk, tahir will play.

I'd be dropping Botha and Van wyk for AB and Morkel with Parnell obviously making way for Steyn.

I thought Tsostobe was a medium pacer, but yesterday he bowled pretty fast.

I was pleasantly surprised by his pace too. Must be the result of him sitting on the sidelines for a while.

Robin P has to play. Botha is the go to guy if SA are pressured and Tahir is the enigma who can clean up a tail easily. For me they all have to play unless it's a real seamers' ptich. I wouldn't mind them dropping morkel and sharing 15 overs between Kallis and Steyn and 35 between the specialist spinners and Duminy.

Also I would like to see them try van Wyk, if he's picked, as a pinch hitter against NZ. And Smith drop down to 3. It could prove a master-stroke.

I was waiting for the next instalment of your borefest, get a life sunshine. You've made the same point several times without adding anything new ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I would go with De Villiers as keeper, Van Wyk just causes a weakening of the batting that might be costly. If it were (an in-form) Boucher then fair enough, or someone better batting, but your keeper needs to bat and I think most of the major nations have gone with a batting keeper, I think most do most of the time anyway in Tests and ODIs.

As for the make up of the bowling attack, got to go with Steyn and Morkel, not least because both can hold a bat and can win you games with the ball.

Spinners might be a tougher call, I'd be loathe to leave Botha out, but then Tahir has taken 12 wickets and Peterson 14, while Botha has taken a disappointing four wickets in four matches.

Smith : 155 runs @ 25.83
Amla : 299 runs @ 49.83
Kallis : 178 runs @ 29.67 & 5 wkts @ 23.40 (ER 4.33, BB 2/19)
Duminy : 221 runs @ 44.20 & 2 wkts @ 45.00 (ER 5.07, BB 1/11)
De Villiers (wk) : 318 runs @ 106.00
Ingram : 46 runs @ 46.00
Du Plessis : 123 runs @ 41.00 & 1 wkt @ 38.00 (ER 4.75, BB 1/22)
Peterson : 43 runs @ 43.00 & 14 wkts @ 13.50 (ER 4.02, BB 4/12)
Steyn : 20 runs @ 20.00 & 10 wkts @ 15.00 (ER 4.16, BB 5/50)
Morkel : 1 run @ 1.00 & 6 wkts @ 26.83 (ER 5.00, BB 3/33)
Tahir : 1no & 12 wkts @ 9.83 (ER 3.89, BB 4/38)

I'd be tempted to play Tahir, Peterson AND Tahir, if giving the gloves to De Villiers. Kallis can bowl medium pacers, Duminy can bowl spin so why not? Leave Du Plessis out, bring in Botha and between Botha, Steyn, Peterson and Morkel you have some decent lower order batting. It's not as if Van Wyk's 65 runs @ 16.25 are much better than what those four can do.

I'd be dropping Botha and Van wyk for AB and Morkel with Parnell obviously making way for Steyn.

In these conditions I don't see the need to play 3 seamers plus kallis, 2 plus kallis is more then enough. I rather pick 3 specialist spinners or 2 and an extra batsman.

I don't see us getting a seamers track in bangladesh.

Using van wyk as number 3 if we lose an early wicket is a real option. He is much better as an opener then number 7, his list a career average of 41 shows this.

On the suggestion of moving smith down, its not really an option. Graeme struggles more against the spinners so he has to open.

Its going to be interesting to see what we do.

If ab can keep I expect van wyk to make for him, with tsotsobe and parnell for steyn and morkel. If he can't keep because of his back and can only play as a batsman then botha will miss out imho.
