No, the practice pitches were slow and traditionally, in Mohali, the ball really speeds up after bouncing.

Ah!! OK!! Have no idea how Mohali pitch behaves as do not correctly remember any recent match except the bang bang IPL matches :p

LOL. I'm pretty sure the Pakistani's won't need that. Only Zaheer poses a threat to Pakistan, no one else.
You never know. Our batsmen made ordinary bowlers look like world beaters. It's happened so many times. I wouldn't be surprised to see if we collapse to a part time spinner, e.g Raina.

Zaheer is no ordinary bowler though. He is world class and is every bit as good as Umar Gul. While Umar Gul has been a better bowler in this tournament, he's had the slow low wickets of Sri Lanka while Zaheer has had to make do with the flat wickets of India.

One bowler can win you the match. Say Zaheer takes out Younis Khan, Misbah Ul Haq, Umar Akmal and Abdur Razzaq/Shahid Afridi (not the greatest batsmen but potentially lethal in the slog overs of the first innings and in a big chase). Pakistan has theoretically lost half the match right there (if not more, depending on the context of their dismissal). Similarly, if Gul takes out Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir and Yuvi, India's chances are heavily dented. However, an argument can be made that Kohli, Raina and Dhoni are much better than their Pakistani counterparts- Hafeez, Kamran Akmal and Asad Shafiq (especially seeing as Kohli has been one of the top batsmen in ODI cricket in the last year, certainly India's best).

Afridi's record against India as a bowler is not the greatest and in theory, we should see him off fairly easily. However, I don't think his role as a wicket taker is particularly important in this game. His partnership with Saeed Ajmal will be crucial to how Pakistan stems the flow of runs in the middle overs. Gul is their main weapon and he should be dealt with carefully, and just played out. India will most likely, and most logically, target Razzaq and Riaz/Akhtar.

It times like this i wish Aamir & Asif weren't banned - especially Aamir. Since it would have been a threat to see him running into bowl to Indian bats in this game. *Sighs*
