Is it just me or is the majority of the talk and banter coming from the Pakistani side in this? Look on cricinfo, you have Gul, Misbah, Inthikab Anjum, and Kamran Abbasi (who btw says India 5 Pak 5 in WC points), and you have Nagraj Golpundi expressing the Indian POV.

Even on this forum more of the posts (say 55-60%) seem to be from Pakistani fans. Looks like the match means a lot more to them-to beat India-than to the other side.

Absolutely true! It means a lot more to them to beat India than it is for us to beat them. They always play the "life in Pakistan has been a tragic thing, we have been ravaged with war/terrorism/etc, and we want to restore peace and pride to our nation" card whenever they win a big match/tournament.

Afridi is now indulging in the same verbal talk that Ponting did before the QF. He says "Let Tendulkar get his 100th ton after the World Cup, we wont let him get it against us come what may". Mr. Afridi, if you havent forgotten, your team mate one Mr. Akthar will tell you tales of how he opened his big mouth and was shut spectacularly by the rampaging willow of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar in that iconic match in 2003. So shut up and talk with your ball/bat on the field! Its good that the Indians havent been talking as much. Have to appreciate Dhoni here. The guy doesnt indulge much in verbal warfare.

The case is simple, those who know they aren't going to perform on the field try to distract the opposition, the Pakistanis are doing just that.

People often say, "Jo garajte hain, woh baraste nahin."

All this pre-match talk is BS from the players. What counts is what they do in the field. Btw, it's not the only the Pakistani side talking, haven't you seen what India TV is doing? They are actually taping our side practicing, and saying it's some Kala Patthar.

Today, Afridi gave an interview to a Pakistani sports channel regarding the team lineup, and practice, and one quote from the interview was : "Inka media waisay bhi bakwaas karta hai" and India TV played the audio on their channel and claimed that "Shahid Afridi kuch naraaz hain"

I agree. This match has been overhyped to a huge extent. Media should tone it down a bit. Loss in a game does not mean end of the world, no matter what opposition you lose to. As a Pakistani fan, I will be happy if my team fights its out even if they do not win. I mean who gave us a chance to get this far in the first place? We should learn to be content. India on the other hand are expected to lift the Cup and this expectation was there before the tournament started.
