Seven Teams T20 Series

Match 15: India vs Bangladesh

Virat saved the sinking ship.

Bangladesh won the toss elected to bowl first. They were very much aware of the pitch conditions and lucky to win the toss.

Soft pitch with no bounce and slow outfield made it easy for them and sent the opening pair back to pavilion within first two overs.

Virat Kohli came in at #4 and studied the pitch quickly and played a slow and steady innings. Other batsmen were not able stand in the middle for long time.

India were in a very worst position 75 for 7 when Ashish Nehra came in at #9. Virat instructed him to be calm and just rotate the strike and he will take care of the rest.

These two built a good partnership 67 runs of 59 deliveries before Nehra gone out for 23 of 27 deliveries.

Virat Kohli remained unbeaten till the end of the innings with 78 of 54 deliveries and helped India to reach a respectable 153 for 8 in 20 overs.

Will this score be enough or Bangladesh will chase it easily ?

Wait to find out :)
Thrilling, Nail Biting, Heart Pounding and what not match it was. As everyone expected 153 was not an enough score for a T20 format. Bangladeshi batsmen came in to the middle with a motto to win this match as they have already faced 3 consecutive loss and this is almost their final chance to move to the knock out stage of the tournament. Imrul Kayes was looking very aggressive from the beginning and started to smash the ball all around the park. Indian bowlers were not able to control him. Bangladesh reached 49 runs in the powerplay without much trouble from the Indian bowling line up.

Ashwin came in to the attack, but he was the one got attacked very badly, giving 27 runs in just 2 overs. Dhoni decided not to go spin anymore as the score is pretty less and Bangladeshis are pretty comfortable against spin.

All four pacemen are used and India was very badly in need another pacer. Without any other choice Kohli was called to bowl. But what a surprise he was the only one who knew what exactly to bowl to control the scoring rate of Bangladesh. In spite the wicket fall in one end, Kayes continued his aggressive batting but not able to stand against the medium pace of Virat. Finally he got out for 75 of 56 deliveries. N Hassan and M Rahman went for the lofted shot and moved the scorecard so close to the victory. It was the last over and Bangladesh needed 10 runs to win. Virat Kohli came to bowl his last over and all Bangladesh hope started fading.

Finally, Virat snatched the victory from Bangladesh by 3 runs. and he was awarded Man of the Match for his one man battle with both bat and ball.

Two more rounds (6 matches) to go and the series is getting very interesting with teams moving up and down after each match. Inclusion of bonus points made it thrilling by adding more spice to it.

Interesting that WI is still at #4 despite losing 4 matches :P

Thats because of the bonus points mate. I included the bonus points because I will select one team in every match and play both batting and bowling. I won all the matches I played. The opponent team should not be in zero because I may select them in the next match. Bonus points gives equal opportunity for all the teams :). WI is the best example in this case ;)

Match 17: India vs England

Another interesting match where India won the toss and elected to bowl first. But the conditions were so much favorable for batting. A.Cook and A.Hales blasted like cannons and made the fielders chase the ball to the boundary. Ball won the race most of the time. They made 41 runs partnership before Ashish Nehra took the wicket of dangerous Cook (31 of 22 balls).

Rest of the batsmen stumbled against pace attack, yet Hales was dominant and scores 44 for just 30 balls. Wickets started to tumble once again after the departure of Hales towards the end of the innings Bairstow did a small show 25 of 17 balls and England scored 149 for 7.

Indian innings didn't start well as Dhawan returned to the pavilion in the first over and Rohit Sharma followed him in the third over. All eyes were on Kohli when he came in and unfortunately got out cheaply 12 runs of 9 balls.

India was in need of partnership after losing 5 wickets for 77 in the 12 over. Dhoni simply said, "I am here, Why Fear :)". Harendra Pandey (aka Hardik Pandiya) joined Dhoni and kept the scorecard moving.

Dhoni completed his half century and led the team victory by 4 wickets.

Isn't the points table off though? How can Aus & Eng having won 3 games out of 4 be behind NZ who have only won 2 out of 5??? And surprisingly NZ is just one point behind Ind despite Ind winning all its 4 matches. Maybe a better system to award points needs to be in place as I can see a team with fewer wins reach knockouts while a more deserving team with more wins is eliminated.

Match 18: Pakistan vs Bangladesh

Pakistan literally threw Bangladesh out of the tournament.

Mohd Sami's 5 wicket haul shattered Bangladesh just for 94 Runs.

Not a big target to chase, Pakistan fumble here and there, yet had no big troubles in reaching the target. With the help of Asher Ali's half century.

I agree bro. This is the first time playing competition mode. I have four favourite teams playing. And mostly prefer to play with those teams when playing against a less favoured team.

If there is only win points awarded I can easily say that only those four teams would reach the knock out. Now with the bonus points system in place, I myself dont know which team would go in third and fourth place into the knock out.

Match 19: West Indies vs India

A do or die match for West Indies to qualify for the knock outs as they were in the 6th position in the points table before starting this match. They have to do everything to gain the winning points and the bonus points as well.

India won the toss and elected to bat first. For West Indies to get the batting bonus points they have to let India score more than 150 runs at the same time take 8 or more wickets to gain the bowling bonus points as well. More than 150 but the score should not be completely out of reach.

It looked like Rohit Sharma and Dhawan will take the score away from reach when they scored 57 Runs partnership just in 36 deliveries.

Russell took everything under control and bowler a brilliant spell and broke the partnership in his very first delivery of the match. Dhoni looked aggressive but couldn't free his arm as the wickets were tumbling at the other consistently.

Everything worked out perfectly well for West Indies when India scored 152 runs with the loss of exactly 8 wickets.

West Indies batsmen did a very good team work to reach the target comfortably in the 17th over and only giving away 3 wickets.

What's the difficulty level, especially for the batting?

Match 20: Australia vs Bangladesh

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first with Smith's confidence relied on his strong batting line up could chase down any target easily. They were already in 4th position in the points and wanted to make sure they are in the top 4 as this the last match for them in the league stage.

Bangladesh on the other hand wanted to register at least one victory in this tournament before heading back home.

Kayes started to attack once again. But their batting line up stumbled once again.

Kayes (42) and Hossein (47) were the only two batsmen looked a bit aggressive other batsman just wanted to be there in the middle for sometime.

Bangladesh scored 153 runs in their allotted 20 overs which is not a big score for Australia.

Warner and Finch showed their opponents that they are not in a mood for child games and went aggressive from the first ball.

Soon enough Australia scored 44 Runs in 3.2 overs before Finch lost his wicket.

Warner continued his innings and scored a quick half century which made the foundation for the chase.

Bangladesh showed a bit of fight in the end but it was too late.

Australia won the match and moved to 2nd position in the points table

After completing twenty matches in the league stage we are waiting for the final match

England vs Pakistan which is very crucial for 4 teams

West Indies and New Zealand are in the third and position in the points table.

Pakistan and England are in the 5th and 6th position. Both these teams will look to win this match and gain some additional bonus points as well since it is very crucial for them to move to knock out.

Match 21: England vs Pakistan

The most awaited last match in the league stage which was suppose to decide the #3 and #4 positions in the points table. Fight for these positions was between 4 teams. England, Pakistan, New Zealand and West Indies.

Both England and Pakistan needed just 2 points to qualify for the knock out stage.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first as the conditions so much favourable for batting and wanted to gain the batting bonus points (3)

English bowlers showed spectacular class in their bowling and reduced Pakistan to 23 for 4. Azher Ali the opening batsman anchored the innings joined by Sarfaraz Ahmed built a solid 90 Runs partnership and made sure Pakistan gains 1 bonus point by 125 Runs mark. England denied the other 2 bonus points by giving only 139 Runs for 6 in 20 overs (2 bonus points for 150 runs).

Now Pakistan's only hope for getting another bonus point is to get 5 wicket or by winning the match so they can qualify to the semis.

A.Hales lost his wicket just for 2 runs and boosted the confidence of Pakistan. But, J.Root joined Cook to smash Paki bowlers and built a nice 50+ partnership before he lost his wicket.

Cook leading from the front scored his unbeaten half century (60 of 39 deliveries) and finished the match with the loss of only 3 wickets.

England won by 7 wickets denied the bowling bonus point for Pakistan.
