Yep ! Correct. The VOR can be a seperate frequency to the ILS. ILS is specifically for landing, VOR is for getting from A to B to C etcetera.

The landing looks good to me. Flare is at "minimums" and at about 10 degrees nose lift, like take off.....

The flare looks perfect. :)

slapped together a video of some random footage.

Mostly footage of my newly acquired f-14 Tomcat.

Also some footage of my first attempt at landing a 747 (1 crash) and landing a Cessna on an aircraft carrier :laugh

You went to the corner of the carrier and barely survived :laugh

Just had a brilliant experience with FSX. Had a go at the mission "Secret Shuttle", basically escorting a group of workers from Los Vegas to "Area 51" on a 737-800. It was going along fine with my co-pilot telling me when to turn etc. when all of a sudden panic happens and the co-pilot goes crazy as a UFO screams, and I mean screams, past us, almost clipping us.

After it all settles down I prepare for the approach and pull off my first accurate landing (so far I've been lucky with landing, either been too high or low) which was a great feeling. As I taxi to the parking, UFO aircrafts are parked there and one of them talks to ATC and asks for a takeoff clearence. It then shoots off at a million miles an hour.

What's this - do you get UFOs buzzing around Area 51? Is this some sort of add on pack, or is it downloadable for free?

Playing with traffic on 100%.

Cleared to land on runway 25r while a 747 is landing at the same time on 25l.

Entered my final approach and some random jet on the ground pulls onto the runway! Tower says to go around so I have to fly a pattern before coming back to land.

was very exciting stuff and of course the one time I had fraps off :(

Will try to recreate it again tomorrow, were at least 5-7 planes in the sky, all the taxi ways backed up and of course that one bastard who encroached on the runway.

I just wanna say, doing an ILS landing is far more interesting than a normal landing. I love using it now that i've figured out how to.

Well, it turns out I don't know how to do it, only in the missions where it's automatically tuned in.

Can somebody please explain how to '"turn it on"?
