Mini Mafia - Town wins!

I don't really understand why Sedition is so sure about this whole must be a "godfather" thing. Personally I think he's had more direction in his accusations this time, so I can't help but feel that he could even be the godfather if there is one. Or coming up with some kind of new mafia setup to distance himself from it?

User also said "someone is popular" which I guess means a lot of roles occured on one person with blocks, counter blocks and whatever?

Rather confused about all the possibilities you guys are talking about and since I was already suspicious of barmy and Hedger, I'll digest it later

About the godfather thing though - As I said yesterday, I felt starting at day gave us an advantage we didn't have in the previous two games (just a personal feeling from a noob, did you not get that or aren't you town?).

Thereby I felt either the town were weaker than the standard setup, or the mafia were stronger. If we do have a cop along with our doc, then I feel the mafia must have a godfather.

Classic setup is an open role setup with 3 vanilla townies, 1 cop, 1 doc and two nilla mafia.

This on the other hand is a closed role setup with 7 players, that could be of any type. I'd assume 5 townies, 2 maf, but could be 4 town, 1 third and 2 maf but that makes it potentially lylo after n1.

Most games just do that to help town get some discussion going at least on day 1. It doesn't necessarily mean town is weaker.

I genuinely feel you are mafia this time Sedition and I have no idea why haha You seem to have worked harder than normal to sell yourself as town whilst simulatenously you were the first to consider the possibility of a godfather. I accept that you have a reason, but really, what does that mean?

So is classic mafia a different game to this then?!? Oh dear god, I feel like I've turned up to school naked haha I'm pretty baffled at the moment. Both the last two games had just 2 mafia members right? So am I now to believe that even the mafia aren't set up how I had assumed?

Classic mafia refers to the setup:
1 doc
1 Cop
3 Vanillas
1 Godfather
1 Goon

A non-standard setup can have any roles you like. For example:

1 Role cop
1 Role blocker
2 Vanillas
1 Individual (survivor)
1 Godfather
1 Goon

Read this for info on roles or the links in the pinned thread. On PC mods have tended to create their own games rather than following an established setup.

That would mean that the doc and cop were successful though whereas the write-up implies that only one was.

Again, it depends on what User meant by it and how we interpret it. Cause it could be that the cop didn't have the same amount of success as the doc or it could mean no success at all.

Well so far Sim, Manly and Adi are the only 3 not to have posted. I would assume that one of them must be the cop as no one has cast any suspicions. That leaves the rather strange thought though that unless both mafia are the other 2, then at least one of them is already posting.

And that just reinforces my suspicions on you. Because you think one or both of us are mafia, you think none of what we say is true and that there's no point listening to it. Or taking it anyway... Which is pretty scummy, because as maf, you can just be like, "Yeah, I fos ___ so I'm not listening to anything he's got to say and because of that, I'm allowed to lurk"

As hedger said most players don't really like day 1 as it's hard to achieve anything. Any allegations made on day 1 are baseless by definition as it would be a very poor player who gave himself away on day 1 when there is no game info available.
In recent PC games mods have started with night 0 meaning that when you have discussion on day 1 you don't know if someone has role info behind their FOSes and Lynches which makes mafia more jittery when they are pressure-lynched.
If it was day 1 after night 0 and I saw you going after someone aggressively i would assume you knew something. The mafia probably would too and you'd likely get killed night 1. Night 0 just changes the nature of the game a bit.

This is all by way of explaining why I was getting annoyed with you making such bold assertions on day 1 when there was no game info around. A "hunch" can lose the game for the town more often that it can win it.

Manly just annoys me though. He thinks that he's god and think's he doesn't have to post because of it, whether he's town or maf. So null read on him atm.

I'll actually join you Hedger with that, I just don't think Sedition has been quite on it this time. He seems to have been halfway between very obviously town, and very obviously "trying" to be town. Can't work out which yet.

And for barmyarmy, the main reason I went after you is because you're experienced and I know you like to seem scummy on day 1, so I figured if you were town, you would be happy with some suspicion. You were my Puddleduck and I diverted suspicion from him last game.

I'm still unsure if he is just inexperienced or whether he is trying to trip us up by playing a very similar game to last time but this time as mafia.
I guess my lynch will be based on how his views evolve in the light of new evidence etc. Good town players reassess things as they go along. Bad mafia players keep hammering away at the same point

Simsanta posted some fairly vacuous stuff but again he's very inexperienced. It's hard to know with new players.
I'm all in favour of pressuring Manly tbh. He's too quiet and that never lynched record is annoying
