Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan international careers terminated, others punished

Is this thread really necessary? There's already another thread about the possible fines and bans that the PCB are thinking of handing out. It's all getting a bit old.....

Sports is a great potential way of uniting not just countries but of ending suffering and celebrating when the nation does well. The energy, the passion, the love, the adulation... its all the same across the border. I for one feel disheartened when I see the state of affairs in Pakistan. There is so much promise but the politics that is played over one of the most popular sport in South East Asia is disappointing.

Sometimes, the PCB surprises even itself by mooting something actually worthwhile, only to be shot down by the Sports Minister, and the players and the fans suffer thanks to this "sarkari" approach. Its a truly ridiculous situation across the border. Why don't you guys come together, start a movement, a forum, an online group, write a letter to the President of Pakistan and appeal for end of all this rubbish?

This is getting worse and worse...and by they way,why isnt M.Yousaf Fined or banned...He was one of the main actor in all this play....

i wish they suspend the whole team and make a new one...am sick of all this rubbish...
God Help our Cricket...tbh its almost ruined.

He was never captaincy material. Stupid players got rid of the only guy who could've lead this bunch of hooligans - Younis Khan.

The Lack of action/inaction towards these incidents are the main reason Pakistan are at the place they are right now. PCB always starts with a harsh punishment, the players appeal, and at the end of the day the players get away with few matches ban or nothing at all.

If we dont come harsh at the moment this is gonna widely effect the next couple of generations. Mohammad Aamer for all we know could turn into the next Shoaib Akhtar. Talent is immense in Pakistan. Our current record in the U-19 World Cups clearly state that. But where do they all go? :facepalm

The answers lie in poor management of the PCB for the past two administrations (I dont know much about the previous ones). They handle the domestic structure very poorly and any person who actually follows it will be completely perplexed at how we keep on producing some of the most talented players. The KCL, a private Karachi T20 tournament (organized by Rashid Latif) whos biggest stars were Faisal Iqbal and Mohammad Sami, boasted larger crowds then most of the RBS T20 Cup (PCB organized tournament containing the best of Pakistan's cricketers)

These players should rightly be punished, since they are guilty and deserve the APPROPRIATE punishment. PCB shouldnt go too harsh as it will be reduced on appeal and they will look as bigger clowns then they are atm. The whole of Pakistan want to see the back of Ijaz Butt, the only exception being he himself.

The PCB manages cricket more poorly than most of the associate nations, the only difference being, we somehow produce players like Wasim Akram

i think i read somewhere stating that Naved ul Hasan ban is because of siding with Shoaib Malik and creating factions and not match fixing....

I am very disappointed as I love how Naved always puts in 110% in his cricket....

Rana was barely in the team though?

I really hope Rana is not involved in match fixing, he is one of my favorite Pakistani players. You'd think that with the amount of cash to be made in IPL/Big Bash contracts that players would not even consider throwing games. They must have been offering a lot of money.

Breaking News: Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan banned for life

The PCB has just banned Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan - this is going to stir up major problems in the foreseeable future.

Not only have those two been banned, Rana Naveed and Shoaib Malik have been banned for 1 year with a 2 million rupee fine.

Shhaid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, and Umar Akmal have been warned, and fined. Afridi and Kamran 3 million rupees and Umar Akmal 2 million rupees.

This is completely ridiculous. Unbelievable.

Did they give reasons why? Can't expect the public to accept lifetime bans without a reason.

hMarka added 0 Minutes and 20 Seconds later...

Also a source?

They've been "axed" from the teams, not sure what exactly that means, they're not too clear. So...

Yousuf - Salman Butt "lazy" comments?
Younus - Pissing people off by quitting?
Malik - Being a dick?
Rana - Ripping up for Tassie? Nah, match fixing?

What do we think, why have they all been given bans?
