Most Predictable World Cup Ever?

The shame is that most of the Irish cricketers are not native..

If you are going to go on like that, look at England. Pietersen, Strauss, Joyce.

And Dalrymple.

Same amount of non-England born players in the England squad as there are non-Irish born players in the Ireland squad.

Yes very good point a few New Zealanders are from Australia aswell. Lou Vincent and Scott Styris i think.

Plus, none of the Ireland players were poached, all moved to Ireland for non-cricket related reasons. Strauss and Dalrymple moved at young ages, so we can excuse them. Pietersen moved essentially for political reasons, whilst Joyce was stolen from Ireland.

Styris was born in Australia, but Lou Vincent is an Auckland native.

You can't tell this yet...we haven't even got to the super eights and some sides haven't even played their second games.
Exactly what his point was. We haven't even got to the super 8's and already we have seen so many unpredictable events/results, which makes this world cup the most exciting ever. Imagine what will happen once we get to Super 8's.

I don't see a problem too much with players having not being born in the country they play for (obviously barring the likes of Joyce), it's not as though English aren't spread far and wide accross the world is it?

I guess I'm not that aware of Irish cricket. I just remember the commentator in the Pakistan-Ireland match remarking that most of the good performers in the match were players of Australian origin.

Not for a country like England, but a developing nation would benefit from having their own players.

I think one of the major plusses so far this world cup is the steps the minnow nations are taking. The strides Kenya, Ireland, Bangladesh (not really a minnow as such anymore) have taken, and even the likes of Canada is good to see. Hopefully teams like Bermuda will also have improved at the same sort of pace by the next world cup, and if the others have improved as well we'll not be too far from a highly competitive tournament that could have 10 plus teams that could win on their day.

anyone looking forward to bangladesh vs ireland?
i know for a fact i wont be tuning in to see any of the ireland or bangladesh matches,
though i will tune in when bangladesh play england
