Mumbai FC- Pride of Mumbai

Should of scored more according to the chances Aboagye had. A win's a win though and hopefully you can do well in the final.

Sweet presentation, Shan.

Mumbai FC 1-2 Al-Nassr
10th September, 2008

Fahad Al-Murjan's brilliant winner saw Al-Nassr beat Mumbai FC and lift the pre-season Myplayandwin Cup.

Al-Murjan tricked his way into space to drill a powerful shot past the Indian National Football League necomers' keeper Kalyan Chaubey. Despite dominating for long spells Al-Nassr fell behind to a well-placed header from Mumbai FC's Ghana striker Felix Aboagye. Al-Nassr drew level when Mohsen Al-Shamrani reacted to drill home the loose ball after Chaubey saved his initial effort.

For long periods, it looked as though Al-Nassr had found no solution to their lack of cutting edge from last season. Some of the players' approach play and passing was exquisite, but they failed to carve out many chances against a stubborn Mumbai FC defence.

Al-Shamrani and Al-Murjan were invariably involved in the chances they did create. Al-Shamrani's delightful dummy set up Al-Murjan in the first half but keeper Kalyan Chaubey stretched to save and the Saudi Arabian midfielder drew another fine save from the Mumbai keeper.

Having dominated possession, Al-Nassr fell behind to the sort of clinical finishing they desired when Aboagye placed his header perfectly out of Al-Dossari's reach. Ali Mohammed linked up well down the right with Hany Hafiz, who revelled in his midfield role, and the pair combined to set up Al-Nassr's equaliser.

Hafiz surged forward and slipped a pass to the overlapping Mohammed who cleverly pulled the ball back to Al-Shamrani, whose first shot was brilliantly saved by Chaubey, but the Saudi Arabia international coolly slotted home the loose ball. Al-Murjan won the game, when a skillful drag-back earned him space to drill his shot past Chaubey.

Ah, oh well, t'is only the pre-season cup. You gave them a good fight but didn't really deserve the victory. Not a bad performance though in the cup and you've been playing strongly recently. Hopefully you can play as well in the League.

Great works as normal, Shan.

Yeah, only a pre season cup. Unlucky to conceed so late though, that sucks.

Quality presentation mate. kiu!
