Cricket 07's 'Century Stick' functioned like that. If you have a PS2 lying around, get it and give it a go (it supposedly works on the PC version, but I've never found a compatible controller).
Honestly I can't reliably achieve either slight movements on the triggers or slight pushes on an analogue stick effectively in a short space of time. I certainly think it's harder to achieve with the sticks though.
That said - I can't see any downside to it being implemented anyway as additional control if you can manage it.
Well I just came up with another idea
Why not just make the whole RAS as to
Nudge the ball around for singles or doubles, and make it a little pressure sensitive so to take singles or doubles,or sometimes a perfectly
Played shot would get us a 3 or even a boundary..for this big-ant have to implement a risk/reward mechanism of its own like thick gully edges or a bit lofty strokes, plays and misses etc, because without that no dismissals would occur via RAS,but i seriously think this would be an awesome
Control design choice...the Left trigger would remain then for aggressive ground shots while the left+right trigger would become for lofty aggressive shots...and we can assign a risk mechanism so that the perfect shot goes along the turf while near perfect shots gets lofty albeit with same power,so we can have a four or a catch either...
