My First Chat Part II​

- Hello mate! I am happy that your dream has come true! We have observed and seen you play for your school cricket club and you have talent.

- Thank you so much sir! I am really happy that my hard work is appreciated.

- Well, I am sorry but I over heard your talks with Tim and I must advice you that please take care of these small niggles. They get accumulated and you get into serious problem. I have had many great players who have fought with injuries but many greats who end up their career due to injuries.

- Oh yes sir definitely, I will look after my injury and will take necessary action as and when needed. Sir you have seen me playing, any batting tips to share?

- Well pal, I am myself not going through good phase what batting tips I will give you. I can just suggest you that when you are not in form and when you are not getting runs just be patient, there will be one time when you will hit that one inning which will help you regain all the lost confidence.

- Thank you so much sir, I will keep this in mind. I will give the best for this county and will work hard to get my self into the side.

- Remember one thing, your main focus should always be TEST CRICKET. One or the other day judging your talent you will be playing T20 or One Day cricket but try hard and push for a spot in the pinnacle format of cricket the Test Cricket.

Ricky Ponting left the place and I was left alone. Cool breeze was flowing and I was in deep thoughts in how to achieve my dream. I was really motivated by those talks from Ricky Ponting. Take That On The Balls - My First Training Session​

Well, it was my first training session today. A lot had happened in my life over last few days. I was selected in the Tasmanian side, met my idol Ricky Ponting and then today starting with the training. I left for the ground as usual in my car and as soon as I reached the ground I was slowly driving the car. Nervousness and thoughts on how will others react was on my mind. I parked my car took a deep breath and walked out of the car.

I saw some small kids too practicing and there on the right I saw Tim our coach giving some feedback to a player. He smiled at me and told me to pad up immediately. I padded up and moved to the nets thinking to give my best shot and leaving the nets today by making a good impression on all.

Tim told, all other first XI players are done with batting sessions and moved to other part of ground for different practice sessions. I was the only player left. He said he was pretty excited to see me. The first bowler was tall guy and he was Right Arm Over The Wicket!!

I was pretty nervous as he bowled the first ball which I missed by a huge gap, I had no clue about the delivery whether it was inswinger or outswinger. Tim screamed saying play your natural game and don't be nervous. Keeping those words in mind, I played plenty of good shot, bad shots and left few. I middled some shots, some were pathetic and some I had no clue and hit on my arms, chest,etc. All those deliveries were not painful until I faced this delivery which hit me on my balls!! I was hit badly and just lay flat on the ground. Tim said its enough for the day

Upcoming Match​

Well, my first training session went pretty okish with me hitting some good shots and then some missed the bat completely and one which hit my groin badly. Fortunately for me there was no major injury and just that knee muscle problem but that was healing perfectly.

Next day I left towards the ground for practice where I did for what I was best known for, WICKET KEEPING. There were Matthew Day,Jeremy Smith practicing too and coach called all 3 of us. He instructed us that all training camps are now over and the Chairman wants us to win this years Domestic season by any means except cheating . He has arranged two 5 days unofficial first class matches against United States Of America. Matthew Day was said to captain the team. Further he said this two matches are held to test the bench strength and players like Ed Cowan, George Bailey, Jason Krezja, Tim Paine wont be participating but will be there to boost the morale of the team.

I was pretty happy as I was sure to be playing in the XI. The match was goign to start in 2 days time and I was hoping for the best.
