it will be interesting to see how Hashim Amla goes...he would know that Gibbs will be desperate to get back in as well as trying to improve on that horror series against England in late 2004 :/

I don't think Butler can still bowl. He won that cricket company slog competition though. His batting has improved.

Yeah i hope he does well. He's very mature and strong-minded for his age (22) and he's already captained his provincial side for 2 years. But i dont think he's gonna keep Gibbs out the side. He's more likely competing with the younger (inexperienced) players.

Hopefully he can replace Prince. If Gibbs can come back in Prince's place, and give DeVilliers the gloves, so that a specialist bowler/batsmen can take Bouchers position, then i'd think we'd have a much stronger outfit.

MAKE MINCE OF PRINCE :happy :happy :happy :happy :p

another thing is we have so many all rounders in our test team at least 2 of our bowlers should be bowlers nothing else and focus on bowling, only martin is a full bowler everyone else is an all rounder we need one more bowler that is not an all rounder

Bond was 110% THis injury just flared up when he was in the practice match. Really, he should have been given that game off.

You are totally wrong there, don't be so cocky. You aint that great mate. You underestimate the impact Bond makes on our side. Even without him, if our whole team fires we can challenge. I must admit now that with Bond out and Franklin possibly out we have hardly a chance at winning the series. A drawn one would be good.

He didnt make a difference in the ODI series, infact he might have actually helped us win it. Therefore I dont care who Bond is, how good or how bad he is, he would have had no effect on the series in my eyes. In fact I've never heard of a fit Shane Bond anyway, I think you should just get over Shane Bond because your little 'Mr Savior' isn't that brilliant in the little games he has played.

i agree we need to stop relying on bond, but i disagree with your comments about his played in little games if you dont forget when we played south africa in odi series he just came back from a major injury which he was out for since 2003 world cup and i don't regard teams like australia, sri lanka and west indies as little teams even though west indies are not as good as they used to be

also he hasnt really played little games this season, his played:

test series against zimbabwe
odi tri series, zimbabwe and india
odi series south africa
was rested against australia
odi series v sri lanka
odi series v west indies
test series v west indies

i dont call that little games

Well recently yes, but previosly he hasnt played that much, but since I dont follow NZ cricket I could have just made another stupid uneducated statement. For now I just hope Hashim Amla gets a go in the next match, Prince has been there for too long without a big score and needs to come back down to earth.

You did make a stupid statement. So I will make one back. That guy with the beard can't possibly be any good. He looks ridiculas.

You don't call Bond's figures 'that brilliant'? You do realise this is New Zealand. We don't have McGraths, Gillespies, Lees, Warnes, etc. we don't have very good bowlers.

Bond didn't have his best ODI series against you. Possibly his worst ever and he still took wickets. He is a much better test bowler.

Here is the Black Caps side

Michael Papps, Peter Fulton, Stephen Fleming (capt), Scott Styris, Nathan Astle, Jacob Oram, Brendon McCullum, Daniel Vettori, James Franklin, Kyle Mills, Chris Martin, Jeetan Patel, (12th man to be named).

Papps to take over Marshall as opener. From what I hear the pitch is dry so NZ may give Patel a run.

I want to see Patel bowl. His record domestically isn't that great though.

Good side. I don't like Fulton opening but he may go well this time round.

Fleming should just switch with Fulton. Clearly Fulton is best at number 3 and Fleming has tons of experience for opening.

what time does this match actually start?

The game starts in 2 hours.

did the Australian test match in Cape Town start earlier or something?...because i dont remember that test starting in 2.5 hrs from now?...gk confused =S

It'll start at 6pm AEST or 8am GMT. I thought the Aussie one started half an hour earlier? If it was 1 hour after our one I guess that makes sense then. As day light savings should have ended in SA which means it will get dark a lot earlier.
