Need to win the last game to make it to the semis
I've simmed the last group match...
I'll post it soon, so we can get onto the semis.

I think my team is more suited to the 50 over format of the game.
Central Strikers v Wellington Thunderbolts
20 Over Tournament - Round 8 (Group B)
Ground - McLean Park, Napier
Pitch - Hard
Both teams went into this match with a simple equation, for the Strikers they just had to win, while the Thunderbolts had to win well.
Wellington won the toss and elected to bat first, but that immediately back fired as they lost all their top four all cheaply.
Skipper MS Dhoni lead the fight back, and he was well supported by fellow international players Paul Collingwood and Shahid Afridi.
In the end the innings really did belong to Dhoni as he tonked 84 runs in a total of 175 for seven, while the pick of the Central bowler's was Michael Mason.
Central came out looking to build a good partnership, and they did that through Gayle and Astle. Sadly for them the normal aggression of the two players lacked, as they struggled to score at more than a run a ball.
Wellington's bowling effort was just an outstanding one, as their two opening bowler's Shane Bond and Ian Butler bowled eight over's between them for just 44 runs.
In the end the Strikers fell a huge 29 runs short, with still eight wickets in hand, and it was the Wellington Thunderbolts who would progress to the semi finals.
Man of the match was awarded to the Thunderbolts magnificent captain MS Dhoni, for his 84 from only 51 deliveries.

The last time we faced our SF opponents,Chris Cairns kicked our ass

For the second match in a row Wellington won the toss and choose to have a bat, on an excellent pitch for just that.
They got off to the worst possible start when they lost Guptill and Kallis early on, both stupidly in the form of run outs.
Yet again it was their outstanding middle order that made up for their openers failure, as Taylor, Dhoni and Collingwood dug deep during the middle stages.
For two consecutive matches now, the inning belonged to MS Dhoni. He hit a sizzling 90, as he powered his side up to 196 for 6.
The only Gangsters bowler to gain any respect, was Chris Cairns. He bowled his four over's, for just 24 run's.
Chasing such a huge total, Northern had to get a fast start. Sadly it did not turn out that way, as they lost Dilshan and Gibbs off successive Shane Bond balls in the second over.
After those two set backs, it was all about getting them into a position where their middle to lower order could come out with wickets in hand, and not much time to bat.
Jesse Ryder and James Marshall lead the fight back, but they lacked the urgency they needed chasing the mammoth total that they were.
In the end they fell a huge 40 runs short of the Thunderbolts total, James Marshall top scored with a well compiled 72.
The best of the Wellington bowler's were, Paul Collingwood, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Bond. They all bowled extremely economically, and that is exactly what you want when you are defending a big total.

For the second match in a row Wellington won the toss and choose to have a bat, on an excellent pitch for just that.
They got off to the worst possible start when they lost Guptill and Kallis early on, both stupidly in the form of run outs.
Yet again it was their outstanding middle order that made up for their openers failure, as Taylor, Dhoni and Collingwood dug deep during the middle stages.
For two consecutive matches now, the inning belonged to MS Dhoni. He hit a sizzling 90, as he powered his side up to 196 for 6.
The only Gangsters bowler to gain any respect, was Chris Cairns. He bowled his four over's, for just 24 run's.
Chasing such a huge total, Northern had to get a fast start. Sadly it did not turn out that way, as they lost Dilshan and Gibbs off successive Shane Bond balls in the second over.
After those two set backs, it was all about getting them into a position where their middle to lower order could come out with wickets in hand, and not much time to bat.
Jesse Ryder and James Marshall lead the fight back, but they lacked the urgency they needed chasing the mammoth total that they were.
In the end they fell a huge 40 runs short of the Thunderbolts total, James Marshall top scored with a well compiled 72.
The best of the Wellington bowler's were, Paul Collingwood, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Bond. They all bowled extremely economically, and that is exactly what you want when you are defending a big total.

However Sangakkara, Broom and Fulton had other ideas, as they got the Aces back into a winnable position.

BCV, I failed in make it all Hyderabadi affair but still I'm planning for third place as it was our lucky number.
