Here we are at the deciding match in this semi final series, and it was the Aces who struck first blood as Tendulkar was dismissed first ball of the match by Kyle Mills.
Dhoni and Flynn then set about re-building the Cannons innings after that early hic-cup, and done it well taking them up to 67 for one at the 15 over mark.
It was a great move by Hauritz as he brought back the danger man Kyle Mills, who responded by picking up Flynn and Pietersen in consecutive balls.
Dhoni continued to battle for the Cannons, picking up his 50 in the over 27th and off 69 balls. But again it was Mills who got the vital breakthrough sneering Dnoni in the very next over, Mills took his match tally to four wickets in just six overs.
The two Canterbury all-rounders then laid a platform at the forty over mark, as the Cannons were 194 for four, including Watson on 50.
Harris, Watson and Thompsom all perished in the next two overs, as Mills took his tally up to six. Shaw then dented the Canterbury tail with a couple more, before Elliot took the last wicket with three overs still to bat.
The Cannons all out 221, the major highlight being Mills taking six wickets.
Southee drew first blood in the second over, getting rid of the makeshift opener Hauritz.
Bracken then took two in his next two overs, as the Aces collapsed to 24 for four.
Sangakkara and Broom needed to score the majority of the Aces runs from then on in, but it wasn't to be as they were both dealt to in consecutive overs. The Aces were left six down, with under 60 runs on the board.
Mills and Morkel thought hard down the order, but in the end the total was out of their reach, as Thompson finished it off in the 30th over picking up five.
The Aces all out 105, a big win for the Cannons.
Ewen Thompson was named man of the match for his five wicket haul, and showed that New Zealand domestic players can match it with the big international stars.
