New Zealand Sri Lanka Twenty20 Series in USA

I'm guessing the SL and NZ squads will just be the same ones as in the World T20?

At the end of the ENG NZ game, David LLoyd said Vettori and his boys are going to Miami. So hopefully that means full strength squads.

I mentioned this on the match thread, right after he said it

Man there are going to be some really big names there,

Vettori
Bond
McCullum
Ryder
Talor
Malinga
Mahela
Sanga
Murali

not to mention the commentators and umpires, my hotel is on the beach and 10 minutes from the stadium. going to get to the games super early and try to catch the players

Pretty stoked

I was gonna ask about the commies. But why commies, they arent broadcasting it

They have not said anything about the broadcasting either way. Im sure it will be broadcast, it just might not be broadcast in the US :laugh

Damn this next week is going to go by really slowly

^^ Your sig. Bond is correct. Cricket and cricketers dont get enough appreciation compare to the other sports. If it gets big in USA, it will be appreciated. We love our sports and sportsmen

The English and Australians love their sports men and women as well, just not the cricketers as much.

Even in America, ball players get way less exposure than NFL, College football or NBA players. Bat and ball sports are a niche sport to begin with. I like it that way, in fact I think that some people are too stupid to appreciate Test cricket and there is a certain pleasure in that.

I think it just depends on the age of the crowd. NBA imo is just the most popular sport among teens/early 20s, its the only sport that gets talked about a lot in my group. My Economics professor on the verge of forceful retirement is a diehard MLB fan on the other hand. But yeah you're right overall MLB is not as popular as NBA/NFL.

"We are delighted to be able to host New Zealand and Sri Lanka in these historic matches," said City of Lauderhill Mayor, Richard J. Kaplan.
"The City and County have invested resources into the Regional Park with exactly this type of event in mind.? Cricket is the world's second most popular sport and the City of Lauderhill includes people from the cricket mad nations of the West Indies, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. That makes a powerful formula for the success of international cricket in this area," he said.
The Mayor himself has embraced the new sport and has participated in a number of gala matches. He has also actively promoted a local evening cricket league to encourage the growth of the game. The sports-friendly Mayor easily identified the many similarities between cricket and baseball.
"Both sports need power hitting, athletic fielding, accurate delivery of the ball and a lot of courage. I am sure that local residents who have not been exposed to the game will enjoy the experience and want more of it," he said.

The teams from New Zealand and Sri Lanka will fly into Fort Lauderdale directly from their commitments at the World Twenty20 Championship currently being contested in the West Indies. They will play matches at Central Broward Regional Park on Thursday May 20, Saturday May 22 and Sunday May 23. These full international matches will be supported by two games between the United States of America and Jamaica at the Park on Friday May 21 and Saturday May 22.

Possibly means full strength squads like they promised :banana2
