New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh October/November 2013

Um, yeah interesting view from Tausif... :facepalm.
Congrats to you guys though, chances are we wouldn't have gotten the target anyway. Also really hindered us being without Williamson as well.

bangladesh are just a better team in these conditions. in all honesty, and I'm sure this will raise a few eyebrows, I think bangladesh's batting is better across all formats than new zealands (well, maybe not t20, NZ have some huge hitters). the only area NZ are better than them, and hugely so, is fast bowling, a few fast bowlers aren't going to completely swing an ODI game on the sub-continent.

newzealand team also played well !! they had a good start..though they couldn't hold it for long..bt at the end they restricted bangladesh under 280..they were going well with the batting..bt rubel's hattrick was a disaster for them..nothing they can complain about.. bt well done kiwis :clap

The SL tour is going to funny, we're probably not going to have our four best batsmen - Guptill, Williamson, Taylor, and McCullum (arguably 5 if you include Ryder).

Lets be honest though it could have been an entirely different story if not for the rain. Also we are missing quite a few players, we are just rotating them around to get ready for the Windies, and the Williamson injury was a massive blow as he is our best batsman in these conditions.

This is probably a bit stupid me saying this but I don't really care how we do in those ODIs tbh, as long as we come home and beat the Windies well.

Yeah, Mills not playing pretty much shows that we're not really trying to go out and dominate the series, Bangladesh have found him unplayable over the years (32 wickets @ 14, economy rate of under 4). And they've pretty much said that they don't really care about the SL tour.

Tbh I just want to see us win some Tests, it's been a long wait under McCullum.

Focus right now is pretty clearly on the long-form game and getting some depth into the side in preparation for 2015. I don't think there's much interest from the team on doing much in the short-form at the moment, it is what it is against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka... it's being used as a few series to blood some young guys and get the batsmen in form. It's a shame, but it's a systemic problem of "too much meaningless cricket" these days.

what is wrong with New Zealand

To be honest, Bangladesh aren't an easy side to beat on their home patch.

Yea indeed they beat Windies & almost won the Asia Cup on home soil last year, so at least in ODI's they at least building up an home aura like what Sri Lanka did in the 90s when they were the emerging Asian nation.

Long may it continue for world cricket's sake, since we have been waiting a while for Bangladesh to show this sort of competitiveness in any format.
